Less than a month left until the Comic Con 2011 and we have some information about the Dexter Season 6 Trailer which will be released in July 21. Dexter's Julie Benz Is Engaged
Julie Benz is off the market! The former Dexter star is engaged to her boyfriend Rich Orosco, her rep confirms to Us Weekly. Benz, 39, and Orosco, a marketing executive, dated four years before he proposed on Sunday. Shortly after popping the question, Orosco had another surprise in store for Benz: he had arranged for nearly 60 of their closest friends and family to meet at the home, along with a Mariachi band for a "pop-up Mexican fiesta" to celebrate their engagement. "I can't believe that none of my friends leaked the surprise," Benz tells Us. "It was like a Navy Seal operation."
Benz was married to actor John Kassir from 1998 to 2007.

'Dexter' Creator Jeff Lindsay Analyzes Why We Love Serial Killers
Jeff Lindsay, the creator and author of Dexter, talked about why we love serial killers, and especially world's favorite serial killer Dexter. "I MAKE my living writing about a serial killer. It’s a pretty good living, and quite frankly, that surprises me. When I wrote my first book, “Darkly Dreaming Dexter,” the story of a sympathetic killer, I thought I was writing something creepy, repellent, perhaps a little wicked. To balance that, I also made him vulnerable and funny, I gave him a fondness for children, and I wrote in the first person — all elements intended to bridge the gap between a homicidal psychopath and readers, who I assumed would, nevertheless, be appalled.
They weren’t; they liked him. Before publication, a nice-looking yenta from marketing took me aside and confessed, “I maybe shouldn’t say? But I have such a crush on Dexter.” So did other readers. The book took off like a dark little rocket. One of the early reviews even said it “breathes new life into the genre,” which meant there was a serial killer genre.
I found that amazing: I had done the darkest, least lovable thing I could think of, and a whole genre was there ahead of me.
People, I realized, like to read about serial killers. And as I found myself on the telephone with Hollywood, arranging for Dexter’s translation into a series for Showtime, I began to think that was pretty funny. “Lovable serial killer.” Ha ha ha. Read more after the jump...

Jennifer Carpenter: "It Doesn’t Have to Be The End of the Show if Debra Finds Out"
Via TVLine.com: The fact that Jennifer Carpenter has yet to garner any Emmy attention for her turn as dirty-mouthed, heart-of-gold, unlucky-in-love detective Debra Morgan on Showtime’s accolade-adorned Dexter is a crime far worse than any committed by the series’ titular character. Will this be the year that the actress’ often arresting performance cops some recognition? One can hope, though Carpenter calls the role itself the best award she could possibly ask for.
TVLINE | Season 5 of Dexter seemed to lift the veil from Deb’s eyes a bit, almost enlightening her about what’s been going on around her for years. On your end, was that a purposeful approach?
It wasn’t a conscious decision. I feel like I’ve requested to know less and less about what’s going to happen during the season so that I don’t start prematurely playing into something instead of letting it unfold naturally. John Lithgow’s year was the season of grieving, and it was really heavy to play and to come home with, so I felt a little release because [Season 5] was a new chapter in a new book. The audience might have gotten a sense of that lightness about Deb. Deb is incredibly insecure — as am I — about her work, but she happens to be very good at it and people are giving her more responsibility. And she’s really adapting well to it. Dexter Season 6 - Executive Producer Scott Buck Reveals Details about the New Season

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What’s the overriding theme of season 6?
SCOTT BUCK: What does it mean when a serial killer goes on a spiritual search? Dexter (Michael C. Hall) has always known what he doesn’t want to pass onto his son — his “dark passenger” — but now he’s beginning to ask what he does want to pass on. So that’s forcing him to look around to see what else there is in life.
We’re not going to see a New Age-y Dexter, are we?
Please, no. (laughter) [It's] a very strong, sure-of-himself Dexter, which would be the difference from the Dexter of last year, where Dexter was questioning himself about everything. A year has passed since the end of last season, so Dexter has put his life in order. Things are good for him. He’s very centered, strong and focused, much the same way he was in season 1, but now he knows so much more. He’s a much more self-assured person. A more evolved serial killer. Jennifer Carpenter: "Really Excited About What Comes Next"
Via GoldenDerby.com: "When Jennifer Carpenter learned of how her character was to change so dramatically in the season five finale of "Dexter," she was not happy. As Detective Debra Morgan, she let the unknown slayers of a serial killer go free. "I had a really hard time with that, because it sort of contradicted what I thought was true about what was at the core of Debra: things are right or wrong, and there is not a lot of grey area. She bled blue, and was a cop through and through." More after the jump...

Aimee Garcia Dishes on Her Top Secret 'Dexter' Role!
Aimee Garcia, Harisson's new Nanny talks about her character. The interview contains season 6 spoilers!
Very little is known about Aimee Garcia's hush hush role on the sixth season of Showtime's Dexter, except that Garcia will be playing the new nanny to Dexter's (Michael C. Hall) son, Harrison. We caught up with the lovely Aimee (who's part-Puerto Rican and part-Mexican) to get the inside scoop on what we can expect from the new season and whether she'll be playing Dexter's love interest.
Tell us about your character on Dexter!
She's super fun. She's cool, sassy, sexy and smart. She a Florida girl who moves to Miami to go to grad school — she's studying child psychology so being the nanny is the perfect job for her and she's actually very good at it. Harrison really takes to her and she kind of let's things roll of her back. She's the kind of girl you'd want to hang out and be friends with — she's carefree and kind of a lively Cuban spirit. Also, she's very comfortable in a bikini. The first time you see her, she's in a bikini. More after the jump...

Julia Stiles talked on DigitalSpy.co.uk about Dexter Season 5 which premieres in the UK in four days. Read a small part of her interview below.
What are your thoughts on the way Lumen's exit was handled?
"I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe it! I was so shocked, because it was just so sad. When we were shooting the scene where she essentially breaks up with him, the romantic in me didn't want it to happen."
Do you think she could ever return in the future?

Jennifer Carpenter: "It's Time for Debra to Figure Dex Out!"
Via thewrap.com: The fifth season of "Dexter" belonged to Jennifer Carpenter. Following a fourth season that brought a supporting actor win for John Lithgow and a nomination for star Michael C. Hall (Carpenter's former husband), Season 5 focused more on Carpenter's Deborah and her refusal to realize her brother is a serial killer. An Emmy nod this year would be Carpenter's first.
Carpenter carried all of last season's angst about the search for a team of men who murder women – and the vigilante duo killing the killers. She tracked down the duo – Dexter and an avenging victim (Julia Stiles), but decided to let them go without seeing their faces. Her decision narrowly prevented her, yet again, from finding out the truth about Dexter.
The decision to let the pair go, Carpenter says, felt "out of character." But she justified it by remembering that Deb had been abducted herself, and had seen video of the men's crimes.
"We all act out of character from time to time," she told TheWrap. "And grow from it, hopefully."
One thing she may not be able to justify much longer? Deb's not figuring out Dex. Carpenter told us that realization is "due" – maybe in the upcoming sixth season, which features rapper Mos Def, Colin Hanks, Edward James Olmos, and a plot involving religion.
Do you feel like your character is the moral center of the show?
That's a heavy burden I guess… but I certainly feel like she's the heart of it, and adds a lot of balance and adds a lot of insight into just how dysfunctional Dexter is, considering that they came from the same family. Read the full interview after the jump...

Dexter Season 6 Casting News: Molly Parker Joins Cast
Via TVLine.com: Ex-Deadwood heroine Molly Parker is headed to Dexter as — drumroll please — someone’s sibling!
SPOILER ALERT: TVLine has exclusively learned that Parker will appear in several Season 6 episodes of the Showtime drama as Lisa Marshall, the sister of Colin Hanks’ mysterious new character, Travis. Sounds innocent enough, but details surrounding Parker’s role are scarce — which piques our interest even more.
As we first reported, Hanks will appear in all 12 episodes of Dexter‘s sixth season as a brilliant expert on ancient artifacts who somehow becomes linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami. It remains unclear if Travis will turn out to be a friend or foe of a certain Dark Passenger. Either way, as Showtime president David Nevins recently told TVLine, this year’s installment “ is not [about] one big bad.”
So, what do you think about her?
