Paramount+ and Showtime Are Combining Into A Single Streaming App

Now you can watch Dexter on Paramount+ and Showtime through a single app.

Paramount+ announced earlier today, the ability for its subscribers to add Showtime as part of a simple in-app upgrade. To put it another way, there's now a brand new way to view content (including Dexter and Dexter: New Blood) from both Paramount+ and Showtime as part of a single user experience, thus eliminating the need for two separate streaming apps.

During the Edinburgh TV Festival that took place earlier today, The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Chairman and CEO of Showtime Networks David Nevins about the future of the streaming services, the competition between the streaming giants, and more. He also revealed something that we kinda suspected ever since Dexter: New Blood came to an end, back in early January of 2022. Last Sunday, cast members of the original Dexter series including James Remar, David Zayas, C.S. Lee, and Erik King gave a panel at Steel City Con. The 40-minute panel also included various Dexter-related questions from the fans, and one of them made David Zayas feel a little bit uncomfortable. When asked if he was willing to talk about his thoughts on Dexter dying before Batista was able to meet him after almost a decade, he defended the writers' decision:

David Zayas, Erik King, C.S. Lee, James Remar, and Sean Patrick Flanery from the final season of the original series, attended the Dexter panel at Pennsylvania's Steel City Con last Sunday. One of the highlights of the panel was when a Dexter fan asked C.S. Lee if he ever shot any scenes for New Blood but they got deleted for some reason. The actor's response to that question made everyone in the room burst into laughts. "We did shoot some nude scenes with [Masuka] ...apparently it was a little short". Jennifer Carpenter, David Zayas, Erik King, James Remar, and C.S. Lee were joined by actor Sean Patrick Flanery who played Jacob Elway in the final season of the original series, for a cool Dexter reunion at the Steel City Con which took place a couple of days ago in Pennsylvania. Michael C. Hall was supposed to be there as well, but for some reason he cancelled his appearance. Check out more images right below!

2022 Saturn Awards - Dexter: New Blood Scores 4 Nominations!

Earlier today, the Saturn Awards unveiled nominations for their 50th anniversary edition. The ceremony to reveal winners is set for October 25 in an event that will be livestreamed on ElectricNOW. Dexter: New Blood scored four nominations in four categories, but unfortunately Jennifer Carpenter and Clancy Brown were both snubbed. On the other hand Jack Alcott and Julia Jones are among the actors who got nominated. Check out the list for the television categories right below!
