Friday, July 30th, was a big day for the cast and crew of Dexter: New Blood. After half a year of shooting in various cities and towns in Central Massachusetts, filming officially wrapped. 

Scott Reynolds said: "And that, my friends… is a wrap on principle photography of Dexter: New Blood. I started in season 1 as the writers’ assistant and end as executive producer/writer. I love this guy. Dexter forever."

After Clyde Phillips' announcement at Sunday's Dexter Comic-Con panel that the new season won't be officially called 'Season 9', IMDb aka the online database of information related to films and TV programs, removed the season nine section from its official Dexter page and created a new one named 'Dexter: New Blood'.

Day 119/119. It is Friday, July 30th, 2021 aka the day the new season of Dexter officially wraps filming. 

Executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds tweeted the photo above, while looking over some behind-the-scenes shots from months ago. According to him, this goat kept interrupting the cast and crew on the filming location. And as you can see, Michael C. Hall was patiently waiting for the goat the leave the set.

Dexter Season 9 Will Be Filming In Studio For The Rest Of July

Last Wednesday was the last day the Dexter cast and crew was filming on location.

Dexter is currently at its 112th day of filming, and for the rest for the month the cast and crew will be shooting scenes inside their sets at the New England Studios. The episode they're filming now is the last one, so they have to be extra careful in order to avoid any leaks and spoilers.

Dexter was once again shooting at the Nashoba Regional High School in Bolton, Massachusetts this week, which now that it's closed for summer, has been transformed into 'Iron Lake High School'. You can see that Michael is having fun with other cast and crew members between takes. Loving the hairstyle. Reminds us of the good-old Dexter days!

Despite the fact the weather outside is hot (85 degrees) they managed to keep things... cool inside, so the actors can feel comfortable in their winter clothes. See more images below!

Writer and executive producer Scott Reynolds later tweeted the photo above on the occasion, and Showtime's official Dexter Twitter account retweeted it. "Nice to see you, old friend".

Looks like the photo was taken during a small Dexter celebration on the set, at a theatre in Massachusetts, in late June.

Clancy Brown, the man who voices Mr. Krabs on 'Spongebob Squarepants' since 1999, known for a dozen other films, video games, and television shows, portrays 'Kurt Caldwell' aka Dexter's main antagonist in season nine. 

And this is the first time since Dexter started shooting, that we actually see him on the set between takes, thanks to local website 'Telegram & Gazette'. As you can see, the villain of the season has a long white beard and owns a big black truck!

Nominations for the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday, and John Lithgow earned a nomination for his role as Elias Birchard 'E.B.' Jonathan, a struggling attorney and a semi-regular employer of private investigator, Perry Mason. This year’s ceremony will be held on Sunday, Sept. 19 at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles.

Lithgow was the only actor in the history of 'Dexter' that won an Emmy (2010 in the Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series category). Back in late June it was announced that he will reprise his role as the Trinity Killer in the upcoming season of Dexter.

Located in eastern Massachusetts, Bolton (population 5,376) is a town in Worcester County. Dexter cast and crew members are currently filming scenes at a school theatre. Faux snow is there too, even though it's July and temperatures hit 90 degrees.

Last Monday, Deadline reported that John Lithgow will reprise his role as the Trinity Killer in the upcoming revival of Dexter. It's been 12 years since the last time Lithgow portrayed Arthur Mitchell's role aka Dexter Morgan's most badass adversary.

The big question is how he will come back. It's not clear how the character will resurface, but according to Deadline, showrunner Clyde Phillips has found pathway for him to return that works within the larger narrative of the show. John Lithgow will shoot his new Trinity scenes in Los Angeles and not in Massachusetts where the whole season 9 cast is currently filming.

Filming for the ninth season of Dexter began in early February and on Friday, the cast and crew celebrated their 100th day on the set. 

Director Marcos Siega marked the milestone by posting this image, and writer/executive producer Scott Reynolds shared the above black and white image, followed by the quote: "Day 100. And what a day it is…"
