Today, on the last day of 2021, we're excited to share with you something REALLY badass! On July 29, during the penultimate day of shooting Dexter: New Blood, we received an amazing video from Executive Producer and writer of the upcoming episode Scott Reynolds.
It includes a little message a la Trinity Killer, from Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan between takes of Dexter: New Blood, for our website DexterDaily.com which turned 11 years old this year!!! Watch it right below!
Only two episodes left, and this season's big bad Kurt Caldwell is out of control. He (somehow) knows that Dexter murdered his son Matt, and in the latest episode he attempted to kill Harrison in the same way he did with all the runaways. Thankfully Dex pulled up in Elric Kane's truck to save the day. Kurt is officially a threat to Dexter and everyone he cares about. Will he meet his maker in the next couple of episodes? Vote in our poll below!
James Remar and Dominic Janes (young Dexter) | Scott Reynolds/Twitter
James Remar, who played Dexter's foster father Harry Morgan for eight seasons of the original Dexter series, turns 68 today! William James Remar was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on December 31, 1953 and some of his most recent television roles were for shows such as The Rookie, Black Lightning, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Will he come back in the next couple of episodes of Dexter: New Blood? Earlier this year, James Remar revealed through a video cameo that he won't appear in the new season. "I will not be back as Harry Morgan on Dexter Season 9. They didn't ask any of the original cast back, so I don't know what they're doing... I really have no idea. It's too bad because all of us wanted to go back".

Let's see which three scenes were removed from the newest episode.
Showtime
The eighth episode was the shortest Dexter episode to date, for a reason. It lasted only 43 minutes and it had at least three scene removed, and one of them was shown in various official "Unfair Game" promo photos.
The extremely violent scene was initially Harrison's dream!
Showtime
The first scene of episode eight "Unfair Game" was definitely a memorable one, and included a really awesome Easter egg back from episode 11 of Dexter's first season. In the most recent episode of the Fanaddicts podcast, actor David Magidoff aka Teddy Reed, revealed that the scene was initially written for episode seven "Skin of Her Teeth" and it was a dream for Harrison, and not for Dexter!

"It has been really cool and surreal" Skyler said.

Skyler Wright who played one of Kurt Caldwell's newest victims in three episodes of Dexter: New Blood, talked about her role as Chloe and the personal success that followed her appearance on the series: "I knew the impact it was going to have. But I didn’t know my character specifically was going to have this much of an impression on people."
The true-crime podcaster from LA didn't appear in the latest episode. But why?
Showtime
Molly Park, the true-crime podcaster from Los Angeles, was first introduced in episode 3 "Smoke Signals". Last time we saw her was in the final moments of episode 7, when Kurt was spying on her. What happened between Kurt and Molly afterwards was not shown, but there are theories that he killed her, based on the episode 8 scene, where he was rocking his blue embalming suit while talking on the phone with Elric Kane. Other people think she didn't appear on the latest episode because "Unfair Game" was focused on Dexter, Harrison, Kurt, and Angela. What do you think happened to Molly? Vote in our poll below!

The runtime of episode seven is (almost) on par with episode 100 "H is for Hero".
Showtime
The latest episode of Dexter: New Blood which aired last night, was thrilling, and also... too short! Episode 7 clocked in at just 46 minutes, while episode 4's runtime was less than 45 minutes! "Skin of Her Teeth" may be the second shortest episode of the series ever, but luckily, episode runtimes are not indicators of quality for this new season. During Dexter's original run, some of its shorter episodes have been some of their most jam-packed.
