At the same time fans were enjoying the brand-new teaser that revealed the Season 2 release date, Hall was busy filming a dangerous scene in NYC.

The second season of Dexter: Resurrection is now well into its 22nd week of filming, and while fans were watching the fancy new teaser trailer featuring Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan trying out a new pair of reading glasses at an optometrist, the actor was busy shooting a much riskier scene in broad daylight.
On September 8, Hall was spotted by paparazzi alongside some crew members in New York City's West Village, filming a scene that appeared to require some serious strength and stamina from Dexter.
The 55-year-old actor was seen having a hard time while emerging from an open metal sidewalk cellar access door, crouching low and moving carefully as he appeared to avoid attracting too much attention from passersby or even the NYPD.
For the needs of this dirty-looking scene, Hall was actually wearing a purple-ish button-up shirt, dark leather gloves, and a cross-body bag that we can only assume contains some very... useful tools.
Interestingly, some of the new set photos show Dexter watching someone as he emerges from the cellar and eventually stands up, while also trying to keep himself hidden. All signs point to some kind of cat-and-mouse game taking place in the heart of the Big Apple, and we're definitely here for it.
But there is another detail in these new photos that caught our attention, and that is Dexter's forehead injury appears to be fresh again.
In the previous set photos from Week 21, Dexter was seen with an injury on the upper-right side of his forehead. In these new images, however, blood can clearly be seen running from the same spot. And that actually raises a question about the timeline of the scene.

One possibility is that Dexter gets injured again in exactly the same place. However, the more likely explanation is that, despite being filmed later, this scene actually takes place before the Times Square and Roosevelt Island scenes we saw previously.
With production schedules sometimes requiring scenes to be filmed out of order, the sequence could have been shot after those scenes even though it takes place earlier in the story.
Director Marcos Siega was also spotted among the crew members at the filming location, although it remains unknown whether the scene belongs to Episode 9 or Episode 10. As for who Dexter is after in this scene, or perhaps who he is trying to avoid, that's still a mystery.
Based on everything we've seen so far, though, there are several possibilities. The most obvious one is Dan Stevens' Lucas Stark, the Five Borough Killer, who is expected to remain one of the city and Dexter's biggest problems in Season 2.
Whatever is actually happening here, these latest set photos suggest that Dexter will once again be forced to operate carefully in the middle of New York City, while trying to stay one step ahead of whoever is hunting him.
