Harrison Morgan’s New Look in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Is the Spitting Image of Classic Miami-Era Dexter

The actor was spotted filming in Uptown Manhattan on May 12, sporting a summer-ready look for the first time in over a decade.

As filming continues for a fifth straight week in the heart of New York City, we’re finally getting another behind-the-scenes look at the cast after several quiet days. The new May 12 photos not only gave fans their first look at Uma Thurman filming as Charley, but also offered a fresh glimpse at Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan, while off duty.

And honestly, these images actually stand out for several reasons, especially for longtime fans of the OG Dexter series, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this October.

The biggest detail is Harrison Morgan’s new look. Both his outfit and hairstyle are noticeably different from what fans have been used to since Jack Alcott first took on the role in 2021’s Dexter: New Blood. That miniseries, along with the first season of Dexter: Resurrection, took place during winter, which meant Harrison was almost always seen wearing heavy winter clothing.

Now that Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is confirmed to be set during late spring and summer, we are finally getting a chance to see Harrison in a more casual summer look outside of his demanding new job. And the result is... pure nostalgia!

In fact, this is the first time Harrison Morgan has been seen in a summer outfit since the original Season 8 of Dexter, back when 5-year-old Harrison, played by Jadon Wells, was spending his final weeks in Miami before leaving for Argentina with Hannah McKay. In these new set photos, Alcott is seen wearing a short-sleeved shirt and blue jeans, a look that actually seems surprisingly similar to Harrison’s appearance during those final Miami days.

But the similarities don’t stop there. Harrison’s new style in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 also strongly resembles Dexter Morgan’s classic look from the original series during the Miami years. And yes, even his hairstyle feels reminiscent of Dexter’s more specifically from seasons 7 and 8.

Combined with Harrison’s new career path, the overall image gives the impression that he has fully stepped into adulthood and is no longer the troubled teenager we met in Dexter: New Blood. As to why this happens so fast, it is actually something we recently explored in another article here on Dexter Daily.

Of course, these creative choices are far from accidental. The team behind the series seems to be leaning into nostalgia, especially ahead of Dexter’s upcoming 20th anniversary, while also visually changing Harrison into someone who continues to resemble his father, despite not carrying the same Dark Passenger that defined our favorite antihero for decades now.

It’ll be interesting to see where the story goes next for both Harrison and Dexter as they continue trying to navigate life in New York City. And knowing ‘Dexter,’ things are almost certainly going to get complicated!
