Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Photos Tease an Unexpected Alliance Between 3 Characters

A seemingly simple diner scene could actually become a pivotal moment that shapes Dexter and Harrison’s journey in Season 2.

The first season of Dexter: Resurrection clearly left some unfinished business behind, and while that already became obvious during the Season 1 finale released on September 5, it now looks like the upcoming season will actually waste no time picking things back up.

With production already into Episode 2 of Season 2, fresh images taken on May 12 in the heart of Manhattan gave us another look at Michael C. Hall and Jack Alcott between takes as Dexter Morgan and Harrison Morgan. But it looks they were not alone. Another familiar face was spotted filming the same scene, strongly hinting at a major reunion: Uma Thurman.

That’s right. After seemingly fleeing New York City with her mother to Amherst, Massachusetts, Charley Brown appears to be back in town. Her return actually raises a few questions, especially considering she was more closely tied to billionaire Leon Prater than anyone else. Coming back to NYC could put her freedom, and even her life, at serious risk. So... why return at all?

That is the biggest mystery right now. But the fact that Michael C. Hall, Jack Alcott, and Uma Thurman were all seen together on set definitely means they were filming a shared scene. And interestingly enough, that scene takes place inside a diner.

The specific location was actually confirmed through a casting call searching for extras to play diner patrons for that exact filming day. In the new set photos courtesy of Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin, all three actors can clearly be seen exiting through the diner’s back door while surrounded by many crew members. You can see the side-by-side images from the set, right below.

The importance of this scene, which will most likely appear in Episode 2, could actually be huge. It is known by now that in Hollywood, diners are often used as a place for conversations/negotiations, and of course, game-changing situations between characters. They are also ideal for dialogue-heavy scenes, which is exactly why they remain such a popular setting.

And honestly, it is not hard to imagine that happening here!

A reunion between Dexter, Harrison, and Charley after everything that happened between them last season would be tense, and the atmosphere would probably feel uncomfortable from the very beginning, and that is definitely normal. But despite that, there is a big possibility that this scene could involve some kind of truce, or even the beginning of an alliance.

As unlikely as that may sound at first, it actually makes sense when you look at the bigger picture. Charley is now the only living person outside of Harrison who truly knows Dexter’s real identity as the Bay Harbor Butcher. At this point, Dexter himself may have no other option than to somehow... work with her, especially since Charley does not fit Harry’s Code.

On the other side, Charley could easily have both the NYPD and FBI closing in on her because of her connection to Leon Prater. In Season 2, Prater would likely become publicly disgraced due to his secret obsession and connections to serial killers, and his murder of Angel Batista. It is also worth remembering that, to the public, Leon Prater will almost certainly be considered missing, just like most of Dexter’s victims in the past seasons.

That leaves both Dexter and Charley in a dangerous position with very little left to lose. Forming an alliance may actually be the smartest option for both of them, and if that happens, it could completely change the direction of Season 2. A diner scene would honestly be the perfect setting for characters like these to find common ground.

Of course, there is also the darker possibility. Charley could turn against Dexter and Harrison instead. While that direction might feel somewhat... forced considering the current circumstances, it is still possible.

At the same time, the way Charley appears to be portrayed in Season 2 may actually be enough to offer another clue. Uma Thurman’s noticeably softer and more natural look on set is extremely different from Charley’s cold, polished, and highly professional appearance in Season 1.

That change could reflect a shift in the character herself, suggesting she may be more cooperative, or emotionally open this time around. And between us, Season 1 already teased that good side of her multiple times, and there might be a good reason why.

Ultimately, everything depends on the creative direction the writers have chosen for Season 2. But now... it is your turn to share your thoughts!

Do you think Charley will end up forming an alliance with Dexter and Harrison, or do you believe something more dangerous will be happening in that diner scene?
