Uma Thurman Is Back with a Wild New Transformation in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Set Photos

A first look at the famous actress in the upcoming second season shows Charley with a noticeably different on-screen look.

Dexter: Resurrection’s sophomore season is currently filming in New York City, and after days of silence, week five of production has finally given us our first look at a major Season 1 actor returning for the new season. That actor is none other than Uma Thurman.

It was actually announced before filming even began that Thurman would reprise her role as Charley Brown in Season 2, but it took more than a month for her to finally appear in set photos. Now, the wait is over, and our first glimpse at Charley’s new look reveals a major transformation for the character.

Honestly, the change isn’t surprising considering how things ended for Charley Brown in Season 1. After resigning from her dangerous position as Leon Prater’s right hand, and with the billionaire now exposed to the public, it makes sense that Charley would try to become as unrecognizable as possible.

Fresh set photos taken on Tuesday, May 12, by Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin finally give us our first real look at Thurman back in character while filming in Uptown Manhattan.

As you can see, the actress looks very different compared to Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection. The blunt blonde wig and symmetrical bob hairstyle are gone, and this time around, Thurman appears to be using her natural hair for the role. That said, there’s still an obvious transformation for Season 2. For Charley’s return, Thurman seems to have changed her hair color to a warmer honey blonde shade, with more natural-looking variations in tone.

Her hair is also much longer than the iconic bob cut from Season 1, which could suggest that a significant amount of time has passed between the events of the two seasons.

While the hair color change isn’t... drastic, it definitely fits the story. At this point, both the FBI and NYPD would likely be searching for Charley due to her extremely close connection to Prater, so changing her appearance would make complete sense.

It’s also worth noting that for the actress herself, this transformation seemingly happened very quickly. During her most recent public appearance on May 11, Thurman was still sporting her usual blonde hair, leading us to believe that May 12 may have actually been her very first filming day for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2.

In the photo on the top of this article, Thurman can also be seen holding a white paper bag with blood stains on it, suggesting that it may have been one of the welcome gifts she received from cast or crew members on set.

Meanwhile, Michael C. Hall and Jack Alcott were also spotted filming at the same Uptown Manhattan location, in what appears to be scenes for Episode 2 of Season 2.

Now that Uma Thurman is officially back and we finally have a first look at Charley’s wild transformation, speculation about the reasons behind her return is actually going to grow stronger. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how her story continues, especially now that she’s back in the Big Apple, after fleeing NYC for her hometown with her mother in Season 1 finale.
