A new update to the PaleyFest schedule has given us a major clue about when to expect Season 2 to premiere.
The wait for the new season of Dexter: Resurrection continues, but with a special event now set for PaleyFest NY on Friday, October 9, the marketing campaign for Season 2 finally began to pick up toward the end of July. This is definitely the beginning of what should be an exciting period for the Dexter franchise, especially as it coincides with its 20th anniversary.
With the anniversary event now set, the October 11–18 window actually stands out as the most likely release period hinted at by the upcoming promotional events.
Speaking of the anniversary, some cast members and creative team members will take part in a conversation about Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 while also celebrating 20 years of Dexter. According to the official PaleyFest description, the October 9 event will also feature an advance screening of the Season 2 premiere for the live audience.
That gives us one important detail to keep in mind. The existence of this advance screening makes a Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 premiere before October 9 look highly unlikely.
Why a Mid-October Premiere Makes Sense
Traditionally, when a new season premiere receives an advance screening at an event like this, the episode does not remain unavailable to the general audience for very long. There are many examples across Hollywood where premiere episodes have been screened in advance before their official release shortly afterward.
While this does not give us an exact premiere date yet, the October 11–18 window currently looks like the strongest scenario. A late-September premiere now appears less likely based on this new information.
What Night Will Paramount+ Choose?
The next question is which day of the week Paramount+ will choose for the weekly episodes. In a previous story, we looked at the most likely weekdays for the streamer to release Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, with Thursday, Friday and Sunday being the strongest possibilities.
It is not an official confirmation of the release date, but considering that the Season 2 premiere will already be screened for an audience on October 9, the PaleyFest schedule is actually the biggest indicator we have so far.
