The series is set to have a major presence at this year's PaleyFest, which takes place this October.
As the second season of Dexter: Resurrection continues filming, the show had to skip San Diego Comic-Con this year, marking the first time in 18 years that the Dexter franchise has been absent from the world's biggest fan convention.
The main reason was the show’s busy production schedule in New York City, where Season 2 has been filming for months. But while fans missed out on the usual Comic-Con updates, it looks like there is now something just as exciting to look forward to this October.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Is Coming to PaleyFest NY
It was confirmed on August 11 that Dexter: Resurrection will have a major presence at the upcoming PaleyFest NY, and the event is shaping up to be a very special one for Dexter fans.
If you're new to it, PaleyFest is a yearly celebration of television where fans get up close with top casts and creators. Attendees enjoy sneak-peek screenings, cast Q&As, and behind-the-scenes insights. This year's festival will take place from October 8-14 at The Paley Museum in Manhattan. But for Dexter fans, Friday, October 9 is easily the most important date.
The evening will not only focus on Dexter: Resurrection, but will actually celebrate the 20th anniversary of the OG Dexter series, which premiered on October 1, 2006.
Season 2 Premiere Screening and Cast Panel Confirmed
As the Dexter franchise celebrates two decades of existence, the October 9 event will feature a special preview screening of the Season 2 premiere of Dexter: Resurrection. Following the screening, fans will get to hear from members of the cast and creative team during a conversation about the series.
The confirmed cast members scheduled to appear include Michael C. Hall, Uma Thurman, James Remar, Jack Alcott, and new cast member Bokeem Woodbine, who will portray Captain Mixon in Season 2.
The creative team will also be represented, with showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips and executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds scheduled to take part in the event.
This also isn't the first time Dexter has had a presence at PaleyFest. The last time the series took part in the festival was back in September 2013, when the original show was approaching its final episodes, with many members of the cast and creative team attended that event.
Now, more than a decade later, Dexter is returning to PaleyFest at a super important moment for the franchise.
