A major Emmy-related event took place in New York City on May 14, bringing the cast together.
The cast of Dexter: Resurrection has been busy filming the upcoming second season for over a month now, but on Thursday, May 14, several cast members from the current season, along with a few familiar faces from Season 1, gathered in New York City for a special FYC event, short for “For Your Consideration.”
After spending part of the day filming scenes for Season 2, Michael C. Hall and Jack Alcott joined showrunner Clyde Phillips and executive producer/writer Scott Reynolds at the event later that evening. They were reunited there with David Zayas, Krysten Ritter, and Eric Stonestreet, who attended specifically for the occasion.
So... what exactly is the purpose of a Paramount+ FYC event?
In simple terms, FYC events are made to remind awards voters why a show deserves recognition, especially when a series aired months before Emmy voting begins. Since May and June are considered the peak of TV awards season campaigning, Paramount+ is actually taking Dexter: Resurrection very seriously.
The event took place at New York City’s Crosby Street Hotel, which was transformed for the occasion. Paramount+ decorated the venue with a large step-and-repeat wall featuring the same blue color palette used throughout Dexter: Resurrection Season 1’s marketing campaign. A big red Dexter: Resurrection logo was placed front and center, actually making the show’s presence impossible to miss!
And yes, the goal of the event was to help position Dexter: Resurrection as a contender for the upcoming Emmy Awards.
Following the cast’s arrivals, guests attended an exclusive screening of one episode that stands out from the rest in Season 1. We’ve learned that the selected episode was Episode 104, “Call Me Red.” And that choice actually makes sense, since it was one of the most praised episodes of the season, although many others came very close.
A live Q&A panel followed, featuring the show’s creators, and cast members, and afterward, guests attended an after-party with opportunities for Emmy voters to mingle directly with the stars and creative team behind Dexter: Resurrection.

Michael C. Hall and Eric Stonestreet
The Dexter star posed alongside Eric Stonestreet, who portrayed serial killer Al Walker, also known as Rapunzel, in Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection. Stonestreet appeared in three episodes, and his character ended up being the only member of Prater’s group to escape Dexter’s grasp.
His appearance at the FYC event could actually be a sign that Al Walker will return in Season 2. After all, Dexter Morgan doesn’t like to leave unfinished business behind for too long!
Krysten Ritter
Krysten Ritter, who played Mia Lapierre (better known as Lady Vengeance) reunited with the Dexter: Resurrection cast for the special For Your Consideration event.
Ritter has actually been extremely busy lately thanks to her involvement in Daredevil: Born Again, which she is currently filming in New York City. As for whether Mia Lapierre could return in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, theories about her possibly faking her death are still out there. But her appearance at this event will potentially add more fuel to these theories.
Scott Reynolds (Executive Producer and Writer)
One of the key creative figures behind the Dexter franchise, Scott Reynolds was among the crew members attending the FYC event in NYC.
Clyde Phillips and Jack Alcott
There was no chance an event like this would happen without Dexter: Resurrection showrunner Clyde Phillips being there. Phillips was seen posing with several cast members throughout the evening, and in this photo below, he appears alongside Jack Alcott, who plays Harrison Morgan.
Season 2 is expected to take Harrison’s story in some surpising directions, and a few hints about his upcoming arc have already surfaced through recent set photos.
David Zayas
David Zayas, who delivered one of the strongest performances of his career in Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 as Angel Batista, also attended the event. While it may have looked like a cast reunion after many months apart, that wasn’t exactly the case. If you want to know why, tap here... but beware of spoilers!
