The upcoming second season will once again consist of 10 episodes, and here's a look at the directors behind each one.
As filming for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 continues across multiple locations in New York City, production is making huge progress. With cameras still rolling, the cast and crew remain hard at work to deliver the best possible season, especially now that the bar is high.
Now that the main cast lineup for Season 2 has been confirmed, many fans have been asking the same question: Who is directing the upcoming season?
For months, the answer has been clear. Marcos Siega is once again returning to direct the majority (six episodes) of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2. This actually marks the third consecutive Dexter season he has directed, not including Dexter: Original Sin.
Joining him is Erica Dunton, who is making her debut in the Dexter franchise. Like Siega, Dunton has been spotted several times on set alongside the cast in New York City during production.
These are the only two directors attached to the season, continuing a formula that first began with Dexter: New Blood in 2021 and has actually remained as it is ever since.
But... which episodes is each director handling? We now have the answer!
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Directors by Episode
Episode 1 — Directed by Marcos Siega
Episode 2 — Directed by Marcos Siega
Episode 3 — Directed by Erica Dunton
Episode 4 — Directed by Erica Dunton
Episode 5 — Directed by Marcos Siega
Episode 6 — Directed by Marcos Siega
Episode 7 — Directed by Erica Dunton
Episode 8 — Directed by Erica Dunton
Episode 9 — Directed by Marcos Siega
Episode 10 (Season 2 Finale) — Directed by Marcos Siega
What is interesting, is that the pattern of directors alternating in two-episode blocks continues in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2. This formula has been actually used successfully throughout every modern Dexter season during this decade.
The exact same approach was used in Dexter: New Blood, where Marcos Siega and Sanford Bookstaver alternated directing duties in pairs of episodes. The 'trend' continued in Dexter: Original Sin, with Michael Lehmann and Monica Raymund following the same structure.
For Dexter: Resurrection Season 1, Marcos Siega and Monica Raymund also split directing responsibilities using the same alternating two-episode format.
With the creative team sticking to a proven formula, it will be interesting to see how the new director brings her own style to this new season, and whether there will be any changes considering that there's a big time jump in the story now.
