A new exclusive update reveals the exact date Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 will officially wrap production.
The second season of Dexter: Resurrection is set to debut sometime this autumn, and even though we are already in September, production is still underway at various locations throughout New York City. Since filming began on April 13, we have gotten a closer look at what the new season will feel like through countless set photos and videos.
Now, as the show enters its 22nd week of production, many fans have been wondering just how far along filming is at this point, and more importantly, how much longer the cast and crew will remain on set. Well, here at Dexter Daily, we have an exclusive update.
We have confirmed that Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 will have 23 weeks of filming in total, with the final day of production set for Friday, September 18, 2026.
That actually means filming is now believed to be somewhere between Episode 9 and Episode 10, which will serve as the Season 2 finale. Both episodes are being directed by Marcos Siega.
It is also worth noting that while the overall production still has some time left, some interior locations and sets have already wrapped. Most notably, filming at the NYPD set was completed during the show's 21st week of production.
But the celebrations will begin almost immediately after cameras stop rolling.
We have also learned that a Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 filming wrap party is scheduled to take place somewhere in the Big Apple on September 19, just one day after the final day of shooting. The show also held a wrap party following Season 1, with the celebration taking place at a New York City location that was featured in an episode of the series.
The next couple of weeks will be crucial as the production team works toward completing Season 2 on schedule. Based on everything we have been hearing from cast and crew members, however, the team behind Dexter: Resurrection has actually continued to operate at an impressive pace throughout production.
And while filming may be coming to an end, the work surrounding Season 2 certainly will not.
Once production wraps, attention will turn right away to the promotional campaign for the new season, which is expected to continue for the weeks leading up to the premiere.
