Everyone’s Thinking the Same Thing After Krysten Ritter’s Latest Dexter: Resurrection Event Appearance

The beloved actress appeared at not one, but two FYC events for Dexter: Resurrection, and fans are all starting to think the same thing.

If we look back at the first season of Dexter: Resurrection, which released weekly episodes last summer, several new characters managed to leave a big impression on both the series and the audience. One of them was Mia Lapierre, also known as Lady Vengeance, played by Krysten Ritter.

Even though Ritter only had a relatively small guest role, her storyline seemed to come to an end. But in the weeks and months that followed, fans (and even Ritter herself) started hinting that Mia’s story might not actually be over. Then, on May 14, 2026, her appearance at two brand-new Dexter-related events reignited speculation and convinced many fans that she could return in Season 2.

Ahead of Emmy season, Paramount organized two separate Dexter: Resurrection FYC events on May 14 to promote the show’s first season to Emmy voters ahead of the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will take place in just a few months.

Main cast members such as Michael C. Hall and Jack Alcott attended the events, while David Zayas was also present for obvious reasons (see here, spoiler warning), followed by Eric Stonestreet, who played Al Walker, a character whose return in Season 2 has actually been teased, since Dexter Morgan is definitely not finished with him yet.

But what really caught fans’ attention was Krysten Ritter’s presence, despite the fact that Mia Lapierre only appeared in three episodes before seemingly meeting her end.

As soon as images from the latest Dexter: Resurrection FYC event surfaced online, fans in Dexter Daily's comment sections immediately started thinking the same thing: That this is not coincidental, and Krysten Ritter may not be done with the show after all. Seeing her alongside actors already expected to return in Season 2 only ignited theories that Lady Vengeance could somehow be brought back, supporting fan speculation that actually exists since last August.

And honestly, the idea is not as far-fetched as it sounds. Certain moments in Episode 6, “Cats & Mouse,” hinted at a possible conspiracy involving Mia, Charley, and the prison guard. The theory suggests that Mia’s death may have been staged in order to help her escape prison. The fact that only the prison guard, the same one bribed by Charley, confirmed her death has continued to raise suspicion.

Despite her limited screen time, Ritter’s role in Season 1 actually served an important purpose. Mia was framed by Dexter for the murder of Ryan Foster, which of course moved suspicion away from Harrison, making her involvement in the story far more... useful than many people thought.

From the beginning, Mia Lapierre stood out as one of the season’s most interesting new characters. Even Dexter himself seemed fascinated by her before eventually becoming frustrated after discovering her true intentions. Her apparent death just two episodes later did not seem very convincing to many viewers, and Ritter herself has repeatedly mentioned in interviews that Mia could potentially return in the future.

While bringing her back might sound over the top to some fans, there are actually several strong reasons why it could work. Lady Vengeance represents a quite dangerous possibility for Dexter, but also an interesting one.

A possible future storyline where Dexter attempts to guide or train her to only target people who truly deserve it could create a very interesting thing to watch, especially since Mia originally operated under a similar version of that code before eventually... losing control.

At the end of the day, the writers have already made their decision, and anything can happen if the writers want it to. And considering writer and producer Scott Reynolds has shared a long friendship with Ritter, has some fans actually believe that a second chance for Mia Lapierre may have been part of the plan all along.
