A Major Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Fan Theory About Krysten Ritter's Return May Have Just Been Debunked

Fresh images from the July 9 set may finally put to rest the latest fan theory surrounding Krysten Ritter's return as Lady Vengeance.

After weeks of silence regarding new and returning cast members for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, it was recently confirmed that Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Mia Lapierre. But it didn't take long for the announcement to divide fans.

Many of them found it hard to believe that Ritter would be back, simply because Mia appeared to be really dead by the end of Episode 6 titled "Cats & Mouse". For a lot of viewers, that scene looked like the definitive end of her story.

That doubt quickly led to one of the latest major fan theories about Season 2.

Since Dexter has a long history of bringing dead characters back through hallucinations and dream sequences, many fans assumed that Ritter's return would follow the same pattern. Unable to explain how Mia could still be alive, they concluded that Lady Vengeance would simply appear as another ghost haunting Dexter, much like Harry Morgan.

The pair were spotted filming together on June 30 and July 1 during an outdoor restaurant scene, and for some reason this made many fans even more convinced that Mia was only a hallucination.

That theory became even more popular after another batch of set photos surfaced one week later, on July 8. Ritter was wearing the exact same outfit as Lady Vengeance. For some fans, this was enough to compare her to Harry Morgan, who wore the same clothes throughout his appearances in Dexter: Resurrection Season 1, and is reportedly doing the same in the currently filming second season, as behind-the-scenes photos suggest.

But... a brand-new series of photos by Bauer-Griffin from Thursday, July 9 may have just put the "ghost Lady Vengeance" theory to rest.

New Set Photos All But Prove Mia is Alive

The latest images show Michael C. Hall and Krysten Ritter filming a scene at Hudson River Park, and they actually tell a very different story.

Dexter and Lady Vengeance were spotted in matching athletic outfits while filming at the park, suggesting they're spending more time together and possibly developing a friendship. More importantly, Ritter is no longer wearing the same clothes she had on in the earlier set photos.

That small detail may actually be the biggest clue yet that Mia is really alive in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, and not just another hallucination.

The new outfit is hard to ignore, especially when compared to Harry Morgan, whose wardrobe has remained unchanged across both seasons. If Mia were only appearing inside Dexter's mind, it would be... strange for her appearance to suddenly change while Harry's has stayed exactly the same.

Adding even more support to that theory, James Remar was once again spotted filming at the same location alongside Hall and Ritter. That suggests Harry is still the only character Dexter is hallucinating, while Mia is physically there with him.

If that's the case, it would also support the 11-month-old fan theory that Mia faked her death in Season 1 to escape prison, possibly with Charley Brown's help after bribing a prison guard.

At this point, the evidence seems to be overwhelmingly in favor of that theory. Ever since Season 1 Episode 6 aired, there have been clues suggesting Mia survived, and with every new batch of set photos, that possibility actually looks more and more likely!
