New Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Set Image Shows Two Estranged Main Characters Reuniting Over Breakfast

This is the first time set photos have captured these two major characters together, although it is not the first time they have been seen together.

Warning: The following story contains spoilers for the second season of Dexter: Resurrection.

Filming for Dexter: Resurrection continues for a 19th consecutive week, and after more than a month of silence when it comes to paparazzi photos from the New York City set, we have finally received some new ones. And they're very interesting.

Courtesy of Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin, the new set photos capture director Marcos Siega giving directions to two main actors we haven't seen together on screen in 13 years. However, based on the evidence we've seen so far, it looks like their reunion is absolutely happening.

Those two actors are Desmond Harrington, who is returning as Joey Quinn, and Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan.

The two actors were spotted on Wednesday, August 19, in Brooklyn, more specifically at a coffee shop, where they appeared to be filming a breakfast scene.

As you can see in the set image below, both Hall and Harrington look quite serious while sitting at a table with pancakes in front of them, strongly suggesting that the scene involves Dexter and Quinn having breakfast together. The most interesting part, however, is that Siega can be seen giving them directions while both actors maintain serious expressions.

That could be a sign that the scene itself is quite serious. Of course, actors often stay in character or maintain the tone of a scene between takes, so their expressions don't necessarily tell us exactly what is happening between Dexter and Quinn.

While this is far from the first time we've seen Dexter Morgan filming a meal scene throughout the upcoming season, it is still worth pointing out that this appears to be the first time in the franchise's history that Dexter and Quinn are actually sitting down and enjoying a meal together.

We've never really seen the two characters share a moment like this. Dexter and Quinn never truly liked each other, and while their relationship improved considerably by Season 6, they mostly maintained a typical colleague relationship rather than becoming actual friends.

But it looks like Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is taking things to a whole new level.

Interestingly, while these new photos make the breakfast between Dexter and Quinn look rather cold and serious, a recent set video captured by a fan during a nighttime shoot in Times Square suggested something completely different.

In that video, both characters appeared to be enjoying their night out, with Quinn in particular seeming to have a good time alongside his estranged former colleague from Miami Metro. That makes these latest photos even more intriguing, as we still don't know exactly what kind of relationship the two characters will have when they finally reunite on screen.

For the record, these aren't the only images from August 19 that were shared online. Desmond Harrington was also spotted near the same location, as seen in the image at the top of this article. However, we can't be certain whether that particular moment was part of an actual scene or simply taken between takes.

Based on the recent evidence, we've noticed that fans continue to be divided over what the writers have in store for Joey Quinn in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2. These latest set photos might make some viewers skeptical about the direction of their reunion, but a single take can easily be misleading.

The biggest takeaway is that it will be very interesting to see how things unfold between Dexter and Quinn in Season 2, and whether their story will take a different direction from what happened between Dexter and Angel Batista in the first season.
