Every Returning Character and New Cast Member Confirmed for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 So Far

Here’s every returning fan favorite and new cast addition confirmed so far for the second season of the Dexter sequel series.

The cameras for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 have been rolling in New York City since April 13, when filming officially kicked off. Over the past few weeks, several actors have been announced as part of the cast for the highly anticipated new season, which is currently expected to premiere in October 2026.

Since the story will continue in the Big Apple, right where the Season 1 finale left off, fans can actually expect several familiar faces to return for the upcoming sophomore season.

In the days leading up to filming, it was revealed that a number of major new actors had joined the cast, alongside some returning favorites. Some of these new characters are expected to make Dexter Morgan’s life a whole lot more... complicated.

Below, we’ve put together a full list of every major new actor and character officially announced or spotted on the set, which confirms their involvement in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2. But first, let’s start with the returning main cast.

Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan)
For an eleventh season of Dexter (or twelfth, if we count his brief appearance and voice-over work in Dexter: Original Sin) Hall is once again stepping into the role of America’s favorite serial killer.

James Remar (Harry Morgan)
For the second year in a row, and following his single-season absence in Dexter: New Blood, Remar is returning as Harry Morgan, the role that became beloved among fans over the decades.

Jack Alcott (Harrison Morgan)
For a third season, Alcott returns as Harrison Morgan, Dexter’s son. The most interesting part is that Season 2 is expected to bring some major surprises for his character.

Kadia Saraf (Claudette Wallace)
The neurodivergent detective from the NYPD’s 22nd Precinct Homicide division will be back for another season.

Dominic Fumusa (Melvin Oliva)
Fumusa, who actually formed a strong duo with Saraf’s character in Season 1, is also returning. Based on a recent scoop, his character is getting a significant promotion this season.

Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (Blessing Kamara)
Although he hasn’t been spotted on set like the others mentioned above, the actor behind Dexter’s landlord, Blessing Kamara, is returning in Season 2.

Uma Thurman (Charley Brown)
The biggest Hollywood name to ever join the Dexter franchise is officially coming back for another season. Thurman reportedly loved the Season 1 scripts from the start, so her return isn’t too surprising. While it will be interesting to see where Charley Brown’s story goes next, recent clues in reports suggest she may no longer be a series regular like she was in Season 1.

Returning Original Character Confirmed

Desmond Harrington (Joey Quinn)
One of the most exciting casting announcements for many fans out there, was the return of Desmond Harrington as Joey Quinn. What made the news even better is that Quinn will actually return as a series regular, just like in the original Dexter series, instead of appearing in only a couple of episodes like he did in Season 1.

Unannounced but Confirmed to Return

(Spoiler alert!)

David Zayas (Angel Batista)
If you thought Season 1 was the last time we’d see Batista, think again. David Zayas was recently spotted filming scenes for Season 2 in New York City. but his involvement was not officially announced just yet. No, his death won’t be reversed, but his return actually raises plenty of questions about what’s next for him.

New Cast Members as Series Regulars

Brian Cox (Don Framt)
The mystery surrounding the infamous New York Ripper finally came to an end on April 2, 2026, when Brian Cox was officially announced for the role. While some fans weren’t happy that the identity of the actor behind the elusive killer was revealed so early, the casting itself answers a lot of questions about the character.

Dan Stevens (Owen Stark)
Another major Hollywood name joining Dexter: Resurrection is Dan Stevens, who is set to play one of the season’s main antagonists. Stevens will portray Owen Stark, also known as the Five Borough Killer, a new serial killer terrorizing New York City.

Bokeem Woodbine (Captain Mixon)
A familiar face from some film and television projects, Bokeem Woodbine is joining the series full time. He will play Captain Mixon, a captain at the NYPD’s 27th Homicide Precinct, which actually is different from the precinct where Wallace and Oliva work.

Nona Parker Johnson (Fiona Mixon)
Another major new addition, Nona Parker Johnson will portray Fiona Mixon, the daughter of Captain Mixon. Fiona is a rookie detective working in the same homicide department as her father. According to the official character description from Paramount, she is also expected to become Harrison’s new love interest.

New Guest Stars

Kane Hodder
Another well-known actor joining the sophomore season is Kane Hodder, best known for playing Jason Voorhees in four Friday the 13th films. His involvement was revealed through behind-the-scenes photos shared by executive producer Scott Reynolds, which means that details about his role have not been officially confirmed yet. However, based on clues from the set images, we actually believe Hodder may be playing the Yonkers Slayer.

Chris Jericho
Not many fans expected a WWE and AEW champion to join Dexter as a villain, but it looks like it’s happening. Chris Jericho, one of the most recognizable names in professional wrestling, has joined the cast in a mystery role. Similar to Kane Hodder, his involvement was revealed through (spoilery paparazzi) photos rather than an official announcement. Based on several clues, we believe Jericho could be playing the Midnight Mangler.

So... there you have it. These are all the actors and characters confirmed to join or return for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 so far. With filming still underway in New York City, the coming days and weeks will possibly bring even more casting reveals and character confirmations.
