New spoiler-heavy set photos have surfaced online, showing Michael C. Hall back as Dexter, taking down his next victim.
Currently in its third week of production, Dexter: Resurrection keeps filming new scenes across New York City, and the effort behind the scenes is already obvious from the latest set photos. Up until now, most of the images that surfaced online since filming began were shot during the day, but this time we finally have a look at a late night shoot.
And wow, this time things actually get really interesting. These new photos are not just spoilery, they also reveal a brand new casting addition for the upcoming second season of Dexter: Resurrection, one that had been kept secret until now!
On April 29, Michael C. Hall, director Marcos Siega and several crew members were spotted filming a rain-soaked night scene in Brooklyn. The sequence appears to show a major moment from the new season, possibly featuring Dexter Morgan’s first victim in season two.
And here comes the big surprise. The victim is played by a very familiar face for fans of both WWE and AEW, none other than Chris Jericho!
Yes, the former WWE champion was actually seen on set alongside Michael C. Hall, and it does not stop there. Photographer Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin was also present and managed to capture some very revealing moments while the cameras were rolling. Take a look below.
Spoiler warning!
From what we can see, Dexter Morgan, dressed in black, sneaks up behind Jericho’s character holding a syringe filled with M99, preparing to take him down. At first, just like in many similar moments from the OG show, the victim fights back.
Even though Jericho’s character is without a doubt bigger and stronger than Dexter, our favorite antihero actually gets the upper hand. Still, it is not easy, and Dexter’s facial expressions in these shots say everything about the struggle!
The scene definitely brings back memories of Dexter’s confrontation with Little Chino in the original second season of Dexter. After a tough fight, Dexter manages to subdue Jericho’s character and drags his heavy body into an alley, likely to move him into his car and continue his... usual process.
These new set photos raise some interesting questions. The biggest one is whether Chris Jericho is playing an actual villain or if there is more when it comes to his character. Based on what we see from his behavior during the scene, it seems likely that the former WWE champion is portraying someone dangerous, possibly a killer who ends up on Dexter’s table.
Another mystery is the character’s name and whether he has any connection to Leon Prater and his files. Those answers will likely come as we get closer to the Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premiere, which is expected this October!
