The legendary actor is set to appear in the upcoming season, as it was just revealed by Scott Reynolds.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is now on Day 13 of filming in New York City, and the show marked the occasion with a pretty fitting casting reveal. Executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds shared the news earlier today on his personal X account, and it comes with a direct connection to the iconic Friday the 13th franchise.
Kane Hodder, best known for playing Jason Voorhees in multiple films, has officially joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2. But for now, details about his role are being kept under wraps.
What actually makes this exciting announcement seperate itself from the previous ones is how it was revealed. Instead of the usual reports from mainstream entertainment websites, it came straight from the creative team.
Reynolds posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the set, featuring Hodder alongside director Marcos Siega and himself, with the caption: “13 days in. We couldn’t fight it. We cast KANE HODDER and let fate do the rest.” See the actual image right below:
At this stage, it’s still unknown whether Hodder will have an antagonist role opposite Dexter Morgan or appear in a different capacity, but more details should surface soon as filming continues.
Beyond his work in horror, Hodder has built a long career as a stunt performer, with over 100 credits to his name. Still, he’s widely seen as the... definitive version of Jason, thanks to his run across several Friday the 13th films, including Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday, and Jason X.
If you’ve been following Reynolds for a while, this casting doesn’t really come as a huge surprise. He’s a known fan of the slasher genre and especially Friday the 13th, so bringing in Kane Hodder actually seems like a personal pick.
Because of that, there’s a good chance his role in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 will be tailored just for him, and possibly even having some of that classic Jason Voorhees vibe!
