The streaming service has just unveiled a new look ahead at a wide slate of its upcoming programming.
As we’ve now officially crossed the halfway point between the season finale of Dexter: Resurrection and the start date for Season 2 filming in New York City, things have naturally slowed down when it comes to the news front. This is that familiar quiet stretch where updates feel scarce, but as the weeks pass, momentum usually builds again and new details actually begin to surface.
Around this time every year, Paramount+ traditionally releases a promotional video highlighting the shows set to debut or return to the platform in the months ahead. This year, however, comes with a twist. Following the merger with Skydance, the streaming service is going through a period of transition. Still, shifting ownership definitely does not erase existing plans, and Dexter: Resurrection remains on the list of returning series.
Earlier today, Paramount unveiled its latest promo, and it comes with some serious star power. The video is fronted by Helen Mirren, who previously played a leading role in the Yellowstone prequel 1923 and notably was Paramount+’s sole representative at the 2026 Golden Globe nominations. Her presence definitely gives the promo a sense of prestige.
What actually makes this release particularly important for us fans is that it marks the first official acknowledgment of the series since October 8, 2025, the date Season 2 was formally announced. The promo confirms that the show is on track to return in 2026, offering yet another reassurance for some people that though the series will have the same fate as Original Sin. Mirren introduces each upcoming title with a playful question, teasing what’s ahead without giving anything away.
When it comes to Dexter: Resurrection, Mirren’s question appears midway through the promo: “Has Dexter ever considered meditation?” While some viewers may interpret this as a...subtle hint toward Season 2’s storyline, it definitely feels more like a lighthearted nod than an actual plot tease!
