A new social media-exclusive promo for Season 2 offers intriguing clues about Jack Dylan Grazer’s mysterious character.

The second season of Dexter: Resurrection is set to introduce several new characters, and while Paramount+ and mainstream media outlets have already announced many of them, one notable addition has yet to be officially revealed. That is Jack Dylan Grazer, the young actor known for his roles in It and Shazam!
As we first reported here at Dexter Daily, Grazer is joining the cast, following a few clues that suggested he would have a particularly interesting role. Now, weeks later, we finally have our first glimpse of the actor in character, thanks to a new Season 2 promo. And there's one detail that could reveal more about his mysterious role.
In the newest promo, which you can watch later in this article, we get a brief glimpse of Grazer interacting with Dexter Morgan. Based on Dexter's facial expression, their encounter doesn't seem to be a particularly pleasant one.
While details about Grazer's character remain under wraps, some clues from the full official trailer actually suggest that he could be playing a serial killer who eventually ends up on Dexter's table.
But there's something in this new footage that deserves a closer look, and it could connect his character to someone we already know from Season 1.
As you can see in the image at the top of this article, Grazer is dressed casually and carrying a backpack, which actually fits the impression that his character is relatively young. However, it's what he's holding in his left hand that caught our attention.
The object appears to be an orange-yellow package tied in the middle with a white rubber band. Does that look familiar? A similar type of package appeared quite a few times in Season 1, carried by serial killers connected to Leon Prater.
And this alone is a major hint about Grazer's character. One possibility is that the killer comes from Prater's files and was funded by him, just like some of the other criminals introduced in the first season.
But why would this character have a package like that, and could it have something to do with Dexter's new partnership with Charley Brown?
Could Charley Brown Be Behind His Encounter With Dexter?
One possible explanation involves Charley Brown, who, based on the evidence (official or not) released so far, appears set to work closely with Dexter Morgan this season.
It's possible that their collaboration will lead Dexter to Grazer's character, although the encounter could also be part of a trap. A recently released sneak peek from Season 2, Episode 2, actually reveals another interesting detail about the unusual partnership between the two former enemies.
The clip suggests that a key part of their collaboration is the belief that Leon Prater is still alive. If that's really the case, Grazer's character and the mysterious package could be connected to a much bigger plan than we initially thought.
Of course, these are only theories based on the clues available so far, and nothing has been confirmed. Still, the similarities to the packages seen in Season 1 are interesting enough to raise some questions.
Fortunately, we won't have to wait much longer for answers. Season 2 premieres later this week, and we'll soon find out whether these clues lead somewhere or whether there's another explanation for Grazer's mysterious character.
