As the countdown to Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 continues, the hype keeps building. We have to give credit to Paramount+'s marketing team, which once again knows exactly how to keep fans excited. And its latest effort includes a brand-new sneak peek clip that is sure to get everyone talking.

The video features a scene from Episode 2 of Season 2, which was recently teased in an official still featuring Michael C. Hall as Dexter and Uma Thurman as Charley.

The image showed the two characters holding hands during what appeared to be a romantic dinner, and it got fans speculating. Now, the new sneak peek offers some answers about what is really going on between them.

The clip was actually shared by NBC as an exclusive during Uma Thurman's recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Running for around 50 seconds, it shows Dexter and Charley interacting in a way we haven't seen before.

What Happens During Dexter and Charley's... "Romantic Dinner"?

Dexter and Charley are enjoying some wine during a relaxing night out in the heart of New York City. It's honestly quite a contrast to where we left things in the Season 1 finale, when the two were still on opposite sides.

But while the scene might actually look like a romantic date, as the official still initially seemed to suggest, that's not exactly what's happening.

The clip makes it clear that Dexter and Charley are now working together. The two are discussing a plan when a man working at the bar approaches their table and refills their wine glasses. He then asks, "Anything else for the couple?"

The unexpected comment catches both of them off guard, as even the man serving them seems to think they're together.

That's when Dexter tells Charley, "This is actually not a bad idea."

"Letting people think we're a couple?" she asks.

"It's perfect cover," Dexter replies.

"Okay... sweetheart," Charley says, before reaching over and touching Dexter's hand.

It's a very interesting development. As part of their... secret collaboration, Dexter and Charley may have to pretend to be a couple to blend in with the other New Yorkers and avoid raising any suspicion. And judging by this scene, they seem willing to play along with the idea!

What's even more intriguing, is how both characters react to the suggestion. There's clearly something interesting about seeing these two former enemies suddenly playing the roles of a couple.

Could their fake relationship eventually turn into something real? Or will it remain just another part of their plan? Only time will tell!
