David Zayas is adding another major television role to his resume. Following his appearance as a series regular in Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 and his upcoming guest-starring appearance in Season 2, the actor has now landed a role in a new thriller series starring Dakota Fanning.
Best known for playing Angel Batista in Dexter, Zayas is set to star in the upcoming thriller, which has yet to receive an official title. According to the exclusive report by Deadline's Rosy Cordero, the series is being developed by Alex Cary (Homeland, Taken).
Zayas will star opposite Fanning, with the previously announced cast also including Stellan Skarsgård, Grace Gummer, Joely Richardson, Daryl McCormack, and others.
Details about Zayas' character remain under wraps for now, but we already have an idea of what to expect from the series.
The story actually follows an undercover Treasury agent who goes after a powerful international company with deep political and criminal ties. But as she gets closer to the heir to the empire, she begins to believe he may actually be a good man and finds herself falling in love with him.
It will be interesting to see Zayas take on this new role, especially as more details about his character emerge.
