It’s Official: Uma Thurman Returning in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2

We’ve just received another exciting update regarding the casting for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2.

Dexter fans, it’s time for the second casting confirmation for the upcoming sophomore season of Dexter: Resurrection, and this one probably won’t actually come as a surprise. Uma Thurman, the biggest name to join this latest installment of Dexter, is officially set to reprise her role as Charley Brown.

The news broke just minutes ago through several credible entertainment outlets and was quickly confirmed by the official Dexter social media accounts, following a similar announcement for Brian Cox last week.

At this point, it hasn’t been confirmed how significant Thurman’s role will be in Season 2, or whether she will return as a series regular. However, the Season 1 finale made it clear that Charley’s story is far from over. Her tense confrontation with Harrison, followed by her decision to walk away from being Leon Prater’s right hand after feeling betrayed, definitely left the door wide open for her return.

After fleeing New York City with her mother in the finale, it’ll be interesting to see how Charley is reintroduced into the story. This is especially true now that Prater’s twisted secret, his obsession with serial killers he secretly funded and supported, is exposed to the public.

Thurman’s return in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 shouldn’t come as a surprise. Even before Season 1 premiered last summer, we learned that the actress was so impressed by the scripts that she actively pushed to come back for the next season. To make that happen, showrunner Clyde Phillips and executive producer Scott Reynolds said that they made adjustments to the original Season 1 storyline.

So here we are. After weeks of speculation, it’s now official that Uma Thurman is not done with Dexter Morgan just yet. The real question now is how big her role will be, and of course what part she’ll play, now that she is far away from the Big Apple.
