This is the biggest opportunity yet this season for fans to appear as extras in Dexter: Resurrection.
Time is running out for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 to begin production, and everything is set for Monday, April 13, when cameras officially start rolling. The first week of filming will include both interior and exterior scenes, and a brand-new casting call released today actually falls into the latter category.
Earlier today, Waldron Casting, one of New York City’s most well-known casting agencies, revealed that Episode 1 of the upcoming season is looking for people to portray gym-goers. The scene will take place inside a Manhattan gym, something that gives us a first glimpse into the new season.
What makes this casting call especially interesting is that, unlike previous ones for Season 2, it’s open to both SAG-AFTRA and non-union actors. In other words, this is actually a rare opportunity for just about anyone to potentially land a role in the series. Of course, there are still some clear requirements applicants need to meet.
Casting is specifically seeking athletic, fit individuals in their 20s to 40s who are comfortable working out and using gym equipment and weights. The scene will be filmed indoors in Manhattan on Wednesday, April 15, which means production is just less than a week away.
Details about which cast members will be involved are, as always, being kept under wraps. Still, it’s easy to assume that Michael C. Hall, Jack Alcott, or even both could appear in the scene.
It is worth mentioning that this marks the first proper gym setting in years for the original Dexter series and its spinoffs. The last true gym scene actually dates back to Season 3, with a somewhat similar moment appearing in Season 5 during a session at Jordan Chase’s apartment.
Filming is happening very soon, so if you’ve ever wanted to be part of the beloved series, this might be your best shot yet. For those interested, be sure to follow the submission instructions provided by Waldron Casting in the image below.
With this casting call being more open than previous ones, it’ll be interesting to see if any of our readers manage to land a spot. Good luck!
