Chris Jericho, the former WWE champion, has officially joined the cast of the upcoming season.
The latest casting update for the second season of Dexter: Resurrection has been revealed, and it brings some serious star power. Chris Jericho, the American-Canadian professional wrestler, rock musician, and actor, has officially joined the upcoming season in what looks like a guest villain role.
Much like the recent casting of Kane Hodder, Jericho’s addition did not come through the usual entertainment press. Instead, he was spotted filming on set for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 in New York City late last night, working alongside Michael C. Hall. If you want to see those set photos, you can tap here, but just a warning, they contain major spoilers.
Right now, there are no official details about Jericho’s character name or story in Dexter: Resurrection, but based on the spoiler images, it looks like he may be playing a one-episode antagonist, which is the kind of role was at its peak in the OG series.
The casting of Chris Jericho actually brings a rich background into Dexter: Resurrection, and it goes far beyond a... standard celebrity cameo.
Back in 2001, Jericho made history in WWE by becoming the first Undisputed WWE Champion, defeating both The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin on the same night. It is still regarded as one of the most significant moments in wrestling history.
From what we have learned looking into his career history, he also holds the record for nine Intercontinental Championship reings, more than any other wrestler, which in fact helped establish him as one of the most accomplished performers in WWE. In 2019 he joined All Elite Wrestling, where he became their first World Champion and actually played an important role in turning the company into a global name.

Outside of wrestling, Jericho, now 55, has actually built an interesting acting career with roles in both film and television. His credits include CBS’s Tracker, the Terrifier franchise, MacGruber, Sharknado 3, and some other projects.
For Dexter: Resurrection, his appearance is still mostly under wraps, but even a brief role from someone with this background is already getting a lot of hype!
