The acclaimed actress shared her thoughts on returning for the second season of Dexter: Resurrection, revealing just how much she's enjoying the experience.
If we look back at the original Dexter series and its spinoffs, many well-known actors have joined the franchise over the years. However, the biggest name to ever become part of the cast is undoubtedly Uma Thurman. Joining Dexter: Resurrection as Charley Brown, the right-hand woman of billionaire Leon Prater, Thurman appeared in all 10 episodes of Season 1. But her story is far from over.
When she first read the scripts, Thurman was eager to be part of the project and even hoped her character would stick around for a second season. This of course became a reality after adjustments were actually made to Charley's Season 1 storyline, keeping the character alive in the season finale. Now, Uma Thurman is officially back for Season 2.
Thurman recently sat down with Gold Derby to discuss her return to Dexter: Resurrection, among other things. While the actress remained understandably... silent about what we can expect from Charley due to contractual restrictions, she was able to say that she's back, with excitement:
"I'm allowed to say, with great pleasure, and it is my honor, that I'll be seeing you again," Thurman said.
The Oscar-nominated actress also reflected on the show's first season, describing it as epic and admitting she was actually curious to see where the story would go next. After reading the Season 2 scripts, she revealed that she was "not disappointed" with the direction of the series.
"I'm excited for the fans, and I'm having a blast," she added.
The beloved actress, known for iconic roles in Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill films, has already been spotted on the set of the second season multiple times. Based on her comments, it appears that several surprises could be in store for Charley Brown.
Thurman's praise did not stop to the story itself. She also joined the huge list of actors who have spoken with the best words about working alongside Michael C. Hall.
Reflecting on their time together on set, Thurman actually joked about the many intense scenes she has filmed throughout her career, including being covered in blood and even being choked on screen. Despite that, she described working with Hall as one of the highlights of the experience.
"He's a beautiful actor, the kind of actor that brings out the best in everyone around him," Thurman said.
She went on to praise Hall's subtle and naturalistic approach to acting, adding that being around that level of talent has a positive effect on her own performances.
Not only is Thurman returning for Season 2, but she has once again been confirmed as the second name in the Dexter: Resurrection cast list, appearing between star Michael C. Hall and co-star Jack Alcott. While her placement definitely reflects her status as one of Hollywood's biggest stars, it could also be another sign that some very interesting developments are coming for Charley Brown in the upcoming season.
