A Fan-Spotted Set Detail Points to Dexter Traveling 2,800 Miles Away from NYC in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2

A set detail spotted by a fan, suggests Dexter Morgan may briefly travel to a distant city far from New York.

The second season of Dexter: Resurrection has officially reached three full weeks of filming, and those first 15 days on set have been a lot of fun not just for the people working on it, but also for us fans who got a look behind the scenes through dozens of set photos shared online.

During the third week of filming, scenes were shot in different parts of New York City, including Brooklyn and Washington Square Park in Manhattan. But here’s something interesting. One of the scenes we saw in those set photos wasn’t meant to look like New York at all. It was actually set up to resemble a big city almost 2,800 miles away.

That’s right: even though production is still in its early stages, it looks like Dexter will be leaving the Big Apple for a very brief period. The city in question? It is located in the state of Washington, and it is none other than Seattle.

This detail comes from Melvin, a Dexter Daily reader who lives in the same Brooklyn neighborhood where a late-night scene was filmed. According to him, the production team added Seattle signage around the area to transform the setting and make it feel like the Pacific Northwest.

Before we go any further, just a quick spoiler warning.

So... what scene was supposed to be set in Seattle? We’ve actually got the answer. Not only do we know which one it is, but we also received set photos from that exact scene on April 30, and they’re the same spoiler-heavy photos already out there.

Based on those, it looks like Dexter Morgan travels to Seattle to take down the new villain played by Chris Jericho. We still don’t know much about his character, and even his name remains unknown, but this does strongly suggest that Dexter starts using Leon Prater’s files right away, tracking down killers one by one.

Since those files include serial killers from all over the United States (if not the whole world), it actually makes sense that Dexter won’t be staying in New York the whole time. And Seattle seems to be just one of the places he’ll visit.

As for the scene itself, which includes Michael C. Hall and Jericho, it was filmed in the rain, which actually helped set the mood. According to the same source, Jericho’s character was seen about to attack a woman on the street, before Dexter steps in and stops him using M99.

So yeah, even though the whole season will be filmed in New York City, it looks like Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 won’t be set only there. That’s not really a surprise, especially after the Season 1 finale, where Dexter got access to valuable personal information about dozens of serial killers through Prater’s files.

Now the question is, what other cities will he end up visiting after Seattle?
