Executive producer Scott Reynolds shared a behind-the-scenes photo that really got fans talking.
It’s pretty common for the cast and crew of a big and beloved TV series to tease what’s coming next on social media, usually by sharing behind-the-scenes photos straight from the set. Thankfully, Dexter: Resurrection is no exception, and every fan knows that.
The latest tease comes from executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds, who, on Thursday, marked Day 14 of filming for Season 2 in New York City with a post on X that actually got fans talking. Reynolds, who loves interacting with Dexter fans online for years now, shared a photo from what looks like an apartment set, with crew members preparing to shoot a scene.
But... what really stood out in that image, was not just the setting. Even though the scene takes place indoors, the very expensive cameras were wrapped in plastic, clearly to protect them from some kind of liquid. And yes, it is exactly what you’re thinking: blood!
Reynolds even pointed that out himself, by implying that the plastic-covered cameras were the reason he pulled out his phone in the first place. Alongside the photo, he wrote: “You know things are gonna get crazy on day 14 of production when they start wrapping the cameras in plastic.”
That alone was more than enough to get fans speculating about what is going on. Even this early in filming (three full weeks), it looks like things are about to get intense fast, which is exactly what you’d expect from Dexter.
Unsurprisingly, after the post went up, fans actually jumped into... theory mode. Many were convinced the setup pointed to a classic kill room scene, while others suggested that the victim could be a brand-new character, possibly played by a well-known figure from a very different corner of entertainment.
Some of these guesses were fueled by spoilery images from another scene shot earlier this week, which is definitely understandable.
And just when it seemed like that was it, Reynolds came back with another update, this time from Day 15 of filming, which actually seems like a direct follow-up to whatever went down in that “crazy” scene. He shared another behind-the-scenes photo and wrote: “Some crazy stuff happened. Took some cleanup. Can’t wait til you get to see it.”
This time, the image showed black rubber gloves in a trash can, along with blood-stained paper, which is a hint that (at least) a cleanup took place after the events of Day 14.
Things like these just remind us of how fun and interesting it is when the people behind the show give small glimpses into production to the fans. It helps keep the excitement alive and actually makes the wait for Dexter: Resurrection a little easier.
So what do you think actually happened in that scene? Was it really a kill room setup, and if so, who was on Dexter’s table this time?
