It was a very special morning for the star of Dexter: Original Sin.
Today marks a milestone for Dexter: Original Sin star Christian Slater, who was officially honored with one of Hollywood’s most prestigious accolades — his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Slater, who takes on the pivotal role of Harry Morgan in Showtime’s highly anticipated Dexter prequel, received the 2,815th star in a celebratory ceremony at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard.
The event drew a crowd of fans, industry peers, and longtime collaborators. Among those who took to the podium to honor Slater were Dexter: Original Sin co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar and director Michael Lehmann — a frequent creative partner who also helmed several episodes of the upcoming series.
Now 55, Slater was recognized not only for his powerful performance as the morally complex father figure to a young Dexter Morgan, but also for a remarkable career spanning nearly four decades. From his breakout role in Heathers, to unforgettable turns in True Romance, and his Emmy-winning work in Mr. Robot, Slater has consistently brought intensity, vulnerability, and charisma to every role he’s played.
His portrayal of Harry Morgan in Dexter: Original Sin has already earned critical acclaim, with the series recently becoming the most-streamed debut in Showtime history.
“Working with Christian has been inspiring and a joy,” Gellar said during her heartfelt tribute. “He brings depth and compassion to every role — and to every scene partner.”
Director Michael Lehmann echoed the sentiment, reflecting on their decades-long collaboration: “From Heathers to Dexter, Christian has always brought a unique mix of danger, charm, and heart to his characters.”
Slater’s star on the Walk of Fame is a fitting tribute to an actor whose work has left a lasting mark on film, television, and now — the world of Dexter.
