First Look: David Zayas as Angel Batista in Dexter: Resurrection NYC Set

La pasión is officially back, Dexter fans!

The highly anticipated Dexter: Resurrection has officially entered its eighth week of production, and this past week on set has been nothing short of spectacular—for both the cast and the fans. Why? Because filming has taken place in some of New York City's most iconic locations, from Central Park to Times Square, adding a special charm to the show and the Dexter franchise as a whole.

Earlier this week, Showtime confirmed the casting of Breaking Bad and Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter. But the real surprise came just a day later when the network announced another A-list addition: How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris! On the same day, Harris—best known for playing Barney Stinson—was spotted in NYC, rocking a wig while filming alongside Michael C. Hall.

This week's filming centered around Episode 4 of Dexter: Resurrection, and last night was particularly significant, as production took place in Times Square—one of the most visited locations in the world.

A Familiar Face Returns to Dexter

In a high-traffic location like Times Square, it was only a matter of time before fans spotted a familiar face from the original Dexter series. And now, for the first time this year, David Zayas was seen on set reprising his role as the beloved Angel Batista!

Zayas is one of four returning actors for Dexter: Resurrection, alongside James Remar (Harry Morgan) and Jack Alcott (Harrison Morgan). He was first confirmed back in early January, and after nearly two months, we finally have our first look at Batista back in action.

David Zayas Jr. Spotted on Set

Interestingly, David Zayas’ son, David Zayas Jr., was also seen at the same location. In the original Dexter series, Zayas Jr. worked as his father's stunt double in multiple scenes—so could he be involved in Dexter: Resurrection in a similar capacity?

Behind the Scenes with the Director

Also spotted on set was Marcos Siega, who is directing six episodes of Dexter: Resurrection. Next to him was another individual who might be the second director of the series, Monica Raymund.

With filming in full swing and major surprises still unfolding, Dexter: Resurrection is shaping up to be one of the most exciting TV events of the year. Stay tuned for more updates!
