Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Star Bleaches Hair for Final Episodes, Says “I’ll Be Happy to Let Go” of “Nasty” Role

This new series regular in the second season has undergone a major hair change and recently shared a few interesting words about his role.

The second season of Dexter: Resurrection is entering its final weeks of production, and with filming nearing the finish line, more and more of the cast are being spotted on set.

Among them is Dan Stevens, one of the major new additions to Season 2, who has been seen plenty of times over the past few weeks filming in character as Owen Stark, with the most recent one being on August 18. Stevens has been considered a series regular since his casting was first announced, and his character is shaping up to be one of the biggest threats Dexter Morgan will face in the upcoming season.

Owen Stark is the secondary main antagonist of Season 2, better known as the Five Borough Killer, or FBK. Based on the show's official character description, he is actually a deeply troubled and disturbing individual.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stevens didn't hold back when (briefly) discussing the character. The actor described the Five Borough Killer as a "really nasty character" and admitted that, despite enjoying his time on the Dexter set, he "will be happy to let go" of the role.

That actually says quite a lot about the character Stevens is playing.

Looking at his credits on film or TV, the actor is no stranger to dark and disturbing roles, but his comments suggest that Owen Stark may be taking things to another level. And considering that Dexter Morgan will have to go up against him, it certainly sounds like the Five Borough Killer won't be an easy enemy to deal with.

Dan Stevens Undergoes a Major Hair Transformation for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2

One of the most interesting details about Stevens' role in Season 2, however, has nothing to do with his behavior, but with his appearance.

As Dexter: Resurrection is at its final stretch of filming, Stevens has undergone a major change to his hairstyle. For most of the season, the actor has been sporting medium-length, textured brown hair as Owen Stark.

Now, it looks like that look is gone. Stevens has buzzed his hair and bleached it blonde, giving Owen Stark a completely different appearance. See the actor with his fresh new look in a recent public appearance:

At first, it seemed possible that the drastic haircut and color change simply meant Stevens had finished filming his scenes for Dexter: Resurrection. However, according to The Hollywood Reporter article, the transformation is actually part of his role as Owen Stark. And that could be a pretty interesting clue.

Could the Five Borough Killer Be Going Into Hiding?

A drastic change in appearance like this definitely makes us wonder about what happens to Owen Stark later in the season.

Could the Five Borough Killer be forced to change his appearance to avoid being recognized? Could he go on the run after Dexter gets closer to him? Or could the new look simply be part of another major development in the storyline?

Whatever the actual reason, the fact that Stevens' new look is specifically connected to Owen Stark makes it far more intriguing.

Once his "nasty" Dexter: Resurrection role is finally behind him, Stevens certainly won't be sitting around for long. The actor is already set to take on another major role, as he was cast as Alex Murphy/RoboCop, in Prime Video's upcoming live-action RoboCop reboot series.

So, while Stevens may soon be happy to let Owen Stark go, it looks like his next big role is already waiting for him.
