Production for Dexter: Resurrection reaches an exciting milestone as it wraps its eighth week of filming. Over the past few days, several pivotal scenes have been shot in some of New York City's most recognizable locations. Among the cast members spotted on set are Michael C. Hall, Uma Thurman, and Krysten Ritter, further fueling anticipation for the upcoming series.
Filming for this latest installment in the Dexter franchise began on January 9 and is expected to continue until June. The highly anticipated series is slated to premiere later this year on Paramount+ with Showtime.
Episode 4 Filming Takes Over Times Square
Yesterday marked a significant moment for Dexter: Resurrection as production moved to Times Square—one of the most iconic locations in the world. Filming took place at night, making full use of the vibrant lights and screens that define the area.
Earlier today, Dexter Daily revealed that David Zayas, who played the beloved Angel Batista in all eight seasons of the original Dexter series and appeared in Dexter: New Blood, was seen in Times Square (photos available here). He was spotted leaving a restaurant with his son, David Zayas Jr., alongside executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds. But the biggest surprise? Jack Alcott, who portrays Harrison Morgan, was with them! (Watch the video at the end of this article.)
This suggests Dexter: Resurrection is setting up major developments for the franchise, possibly featuring a long-awaited scene between Batista and Harrison.

Below, you can see Jack Alcott wearing Harrison’s signature blue jacket—the same one Dexter gave him in Dexter: New Blood. One photo captures him rushing out of the restaurant, while another shows him seemingly trying to evade someone looking for him.

Dexter and Batista: A Long-Awaited Reunion?
Let's be honest—the finale of Dexter: New Blood in January 2022 left fans with unanswered questions, particularly regarding Batista and Dexter. In the series, Batista was en route to Iron Lake after Angela Bishop informed him that Dexter Morgan was alive and that she had compelling evidence linking him to the Bay Harbor Butcher case. However, due to the rushed nature of the finale, that confrontation never happened, as Harrison ultimately "killed" Dexter at his own request.
It seems Dexter: Resurrection is finally correcting this missed opportunity. With filming now at a point where a long-awaited face-off between Dexter and Batista is imminent, fans can expect an epic moment that could redefine the franchise’s legacy.
