Major Dexter: Original Sin Spoiler: This Prequel Casting Hints at an Exciting Crossover!

This is big news, Dexter fans!

Dexter: Original Sin, the eagerly awaited prequel set 15 years before the original series, is now in its 19th week of production, with filming slated to conclude next month. Starring Patrick Gibson, Christian Slater, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Patrick Dempsey, the series is set to premiere on Friday, December 13, on Paramount+ with Showtime.

Although the prequel’s debut is just around the corner, recent polls suggest fans are even more excited about another project within the Dexter franchise: Dexter: Resurrection. This sequel aims to address the controversial ending of Dexter: New Blood, which left many fans deeply dissatisfied. Dexter: Resurrection will see Michael C. Hall return to his iconic role as Dexter Morgan and was officially announced during the Dexter: Original Sin panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024.

Now, brace yourselves for an exciting update that might just get you equally hyped for Dexter: Original Sin. And it all comes down to... a casting reveal! Warning: major spoilers ahead!

Dexter: Original Sin and Dexter: Resurrection are set to feature crossover storylines, connecting the two shows in exciting new ways.

Actor Dante Myles has joined the cast of Dexter: Original Sin. While this might not seem significant at first, his IMDb profile lists him as the "Iron Lake Doctor" for the prequel’s pilot episode, hinting at a potentially intriguing role.

If the IMDb source doesn’t feel credible enough, we did some digging on the actor’s Instagram account. Over the past few days, Dante Myles has been posting images that look quite familiar to anyone following behind-the-scenes updates for Dexter: Original Sin.

In a reel posted on October 15, Myles captioned it, "Looking forward to sharing the new Series Premiere Episode of this Hit Franchise…Coming Soon!" The video features the exterior of the CBS Studios building and a trailer identical to those used by the Dexter: Original Sin cast. On the door, a paper reads "Iron Lake Doctor," with Myles’ name written just below.

The reel then shows Myles inside his trailer, clearly excited about his role, as he reveals the wardrobe containing the Iron Lake doctor's outfit.

This strongly suggests that Dexter: Original Sin will feature scenes set in the aftermath of Dexter: New Blood at Iron Lake, following the moment when Harrison shot Dexter. It appears Dante Myles will portray an Iron Lake doctor who arrives at the scene where Dexter was nearly fatally shot by his own son, possibly to save him from death.

According to showrunner Clyde Phillips at last summer's Comic-Con, Dexter: Resurrection is scheduled to officially begin filming in January 2025. However, it appears that Michael C. Hall, Dante Myles, and possibly other actors are already filming brief scenes that will be integrated into Dexter: Original Sin.

Including scenes from the aftermath of Dexter: New Blood in the prequel is a smart move by the writers and Paramount. This strategy keeps fans engaged with Dexter: Original Sin throughout its first season and appeals to those who were initially skeptical about the prequel but eagerly anticipated Dexter: Resurrection, promising a smooth connection between the two series.

Stay tuned for upcoming casting announcements, including both familiar faces and new additions to Dexter: Resurrection!
