With the new season of Dexter: Resurrection just around the corner, October has been packed with events promoting the beloved series. And the excitement isn't limited to the United States. Paramount+ has also been bringing the show to fans in other countries, including Canada, where Jack Alcott recently took center stage at a special promotional event.

Organized by Paramount+ Canada, the event took place in Toronto on October 16. Although Alcott was the only cast member representing the series, he actually had a lot to share with fans as the event celebrated 20 years of Dexter. The festivities included a screening of the Season 2 premiere, along with some fan activities.

Following the screening, the actor who plays Harrison Morgan sat down for a Q&A with the journalist hosting the event. Among other things, Alcott discussed the difference between going into a scene with a performance already planned in his head and simply reacting naturally in the moment.

"It's really, really easy as an actor to, when you go to do a scene, is to like deliver the performance that is playing in the movie in my head... And if you're doing that, you're not really listening to the other person that's in the scene."

He also explained how becoming too self-conscious can affect his performance, especially when he starts worrying about the little things the camera might pick up.

"Anytime that I have ever felt in my head or hyper-self-conscious 'oh you're blinking too much, you're breathing weird, you're doing that thing, and twitching your finger, and the camera's going to see it, they're going to think you're an idiot'... whatever it is, I'm not feeling it."

For Alcott, working with a scene partner like Michael C. Hall actually makes it much easier to stay present and focused. The actor explained that Hall's intensity and generosity on set naturally draw him into the moment, allowing him to react rather than overthink his performance.

"It is almost impossible not to listen to Michael because the amount of energy that comes out of his eyes, the intensity that he carries as that character, and how generous he is as an actor... it commands a room, it commands a scene."

Jack Alcott Gets an Early Birthday Surprise

The Toronto event also included a special surprise for Alcott. At one point, the actor was asked to blow out the candles on a birthday cake with the candles on it inpired by the ones featured in the special Dexter 20th-anniversary poster. As you can see in the image below, the cake featured the playful message "Harry Birthday, Jack," and the actor definitely looked surprised by that gesture.

And that is because there was just one small detail that made the surprise even more interesting. The event took place on October 16, eight days before Alcott's actual birthday on October 24. It was a thoughtful way for the Paramount+ Canada team to celebrate the actor a little early!

So, how old is Jack Alcott turning today, October 24, 2026? The actor is celebrating his 30th birthday. Born in 1996, Alcott has come a long way since joining Dexter in 2020, and his role as Harrison has actually become more and more important as the seasons progress.

With Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 promotion now at its peak, the cast has had a busy schedule packed with interviews, and fan events. It may be an exhausting time, but these moments also mark an important chapter in Alcott's career, and strong memories for the future.
