Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is introducing an antagonist unlike anyone we have seen in the franchise before: the youngest serial killer Dexter Morgan has ever faced. With "age" playing a major role throughout this next chapter, touching directly on Dexter’s midlife crisis, the writing team is actually  taking that theme a step further.

Based on recent research using publicly available footage and information from Paramount+, this remarkably young killer is set to be portrayed by 23-year-old actor Jack Dylan Grazer, one of the best-known young stars of his generation.

All signs point to his character being around the same age as Grazer himself, or possibly even younger.

Interesting Trailer Clues Revealed

Evidence pointing to Grazer's involvement was previously uncovered in an article here at Dexter Daily. However, the recently released full Season 2 trailer provides an even bigger set of clues about his character.

During the opening moments of the trailer, Grazer's character is lying on Dexter's table, wrapped in plastic. Above his body are photographs of four different people, potentially all men, arranged in a quite similar style Dex uses when preparing a kill room.

While revealing himself as the Bay Harbor Butcher, Dexter even refers to the person on his table as a "kid." That wording and setup suggests that Dexter is dealing with a young serial murderer rather than someone responsible for a single crime, making him the youngest serial killer encountered in the entire franchise.

The youngest killer Dexter nearly took down in the original series was Jeremy Downs, a teenage character introduced 20 years ago.

However, Downs does not technically fit the definition of a serial killer. He was responsible for two murders, which actually fell short of the classification. That distinction makes Grazer’s character a completely different kind of opponent if he has already claimed multiple victims at such a young age.

Season 2 Features Dexter's Most Diverse Antagonists Yet

Dexter Morgan's sophomore season on Dexter: Resurrection is definitely shaping up to be very diverse when it comes to its antagonists.

Don Framt, better known as the New York Ripper, appears set to be the oldest major killer Dexter has ever faced, while Lucas Stark, the Five Borough Killer, is at least 12 years younger than Dexter himself. Adding Jack Dylan Grazer's character as what could be the youngest serial killer in franchise history definitely gives Season 2 a unique dynamic.

With Dexter already struggling with his own age and trying to figure out what comes next in his life, facing a killer who is barely old enough to be considered an adult actually adds an entirely another interesting layer to the story. Based on the clues hidden in the trailer, this may end up being one of Season 2's most interesting confrontations!
