The first season of the sequel series received three nominations across three television categories at the 2026 Critics Choice Super Awards.
Looking back at the awards journey of Dexter: Resurrection Season 1, it's been a bittersweet one, leaning more toward bitter. Despite becoming a fan favorite and earning very strong reviews from critics, the series was shut out of both the Emmys and the Golden Globes. Still, it has managed to pick up several nominations, and even a few wins, at other award shows.
The latest recognition actually comes from the 2026 Critics Choice Super Awards, where Dexter: Resurrection received three nominations.
For those unfamiliar with them (and we're guessing that's quite a few of you) the Critics Choice Super Awards celebrate the best in fan-favorite genres across television and film, including horror, acton, sci-fi, fantasy, superhero, and thriller.
Although the name sounds similar to the Critics Choice Awards, the Super Awards are in fact a separate, genre-focused event. They are well respected within those genres, but they don't really carry the same prestige or influence in the industry as the main Critics Choice Awards.
Even so, it is definitely an notable achievement for the series.
Dexter: Resurrection Nominated for Best Horror Series
The first nomination is for Best Horror Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie.
In that category, Dexter: Resurrection will compete against The Beauty, The Boroughs, Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy, Ghosts, IT: Welcome to Derry, Wednesday, and Widow's Bay.
Michael C. Hall Earns a Best Actor Nomination
Michael C. Hall also received a nomination for Best Actor in a Horror Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie.
He's up against Michael Chernus (Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy), Charlie Hunnam (Monster: The Ed Gein Story), Alfred Molina (The Borouhgs), Harold Perrineau (From), and Matthew Rhys (Widow's Bay).
Peter Dinklage Recognized for His Villain Performance
The show's third nomination is for Best Villain in a Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie.
Peter Dinklage, who delivered an amazing performance as Leon Prater, aka Season 1's main villain, will compete against Macaulay Culkin (Fallout), Paul Giamatti (Star Trek: Starfleet Academy), Brendan Gleeson (Spider-Noir), Ewan Mitchell (House of the Dragon), and Antony Starr (The Boys).
Unlike most major award shows, the Critics Choice Super Awards don't hold a televised ceremony. Instead, the winners will be announced on Thursday, August 6.
