Week 12 of production has arrived, bringing a fresh batch of set photos right out of the gate.
After a relatively quiet month for Dexter: Resurrection set updates and casting news, the final week of June has started in a big way. First, we got official confirmation of a major Season 1 character return. Now, we have brand new photos from the set of Season 2 in New York.
The latest images, courtesy of Bauer-Griffin, show Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan filming exterior scenes at Astoria Park. There are some interesting details in these photos, and some of them could be considered big spoilers. So, if you would rather stay in the dark about possible plot details, this is your chance to stop reading.
The new set photos show Hall wearing a black hat, which appears to be the same one Dexter wore in certain Season 1 scenes, along with a pair of sunglasses. He's definitely trying to stay under the radar, especially considering he's in one of New York City's most popular public parks. But why he's there, and who he's with, is actually the most intriguing part.
Michael C. Hall was spotted filming alongside Brian Cox, who, as many of you already know by now, plays Don Framt, better known as the New York Ripper, one of the most talked-about characters from Season 1.
The two actors were seen both between takes and while filming a scene together. In the photos, Cox is once again sitting in a wheelchair as Don Framt, while Hall sits on a nearby bench. One very interesting details is that Cox is holding and using a pair of binoculars, potentially watching a woman who is simply enjoying a relaxing day in the park.
The nature of this interaction between Dexter and the New York Ripper remains a mystery, and this is the second time both actor are seen together on the set. However, based on what we've seen in past seasons, especially in the original series, it's actually easy to imagine Dexter becoming fascinated by a serial killer who managed to stay hidden and avoid capture for decades.
Director Marcos Siega was also spotted on set, wearing a Brazil jersey and showing support for his country, who happened to be playing against Japan in the FIFA World Cup at the time filming was taking place.
It's still unknown which episode this scene belongs to, but based on recent updates shared by Siega, there's a good chance it's from Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, Episode 6.
Earlier on June 29, a Dexter Daily follower happened to be at the same location and sent us some additional photos of Hall, this time standing. An interesting detail is that Dexter is still carrying the same backpack he took from Ronald Schmidt, also known as the Dark Passenger Killer, in Season 1, despite the significant time jump between the two seasons.
Week 12 of filming has actually started on a promising note, and this could be a sign that even more exciting updates are on the way. With July just beginning, it looks like we're in for a very interesting month filled with official news and behind-the-scenes reveals.
So, stay tuned to Dexter Daily so you don't miss a thing!
