Kadia Saraf Teases What She Wants to Explore for Claudette in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2

As production for Season 2 approaches, the actress shared what she hopes to see happen next.

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 is expected to begin filming in a little over two months, and while we are eagerly waiting for updates and casting announcements, it appears that much of the main cast is also waiting for answers. Although scripts have reportedly been in development for the past four months, both viewers and several cast members actually remain in the dark about what comes next.

One of those cast members is Kadia Saraf, who portrayed Detective Claudette Wallace throughout the 10-episode first season of Dexter: Resurrection. Wallace quickly became a standout character, working as a sharp and intuitive detective at the NYPD’s 22nd Precinct.

Saraf recently sat down with The Dark Passengers Podcast to discuss her role in the series during an interview that took place at CBS Radford Studios, which is the creative hub where the show’s writing and production planning happens. Despite being at the heart of where the series is developed, Saraf admitted that she still has no actual insight into the storyline for Season 2.

The uncertainty, however, gave Saraf the perfect opportunity to share her hopes for Claudette Wallace’s future. When podcast hosts Jack and Diana Pesin asked what she would like to see explored in Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, Saraf was honest and enthusiastic about wanting to dive deeper into her character’s personal life.

“I cannot wait,” she said with excitement before elaborating. “I can’t wait to see Claudette in her private space, in her home, something personal about her. To know the whys of her behavior, the why of her determination and drive. That will be really fascinating.”

Saraf’s comments actually reflect a quite common desire among series regulars to further explore their characters, for more depth and additional screen time. She also shared a playful detail, suggesting that Claudette might be a cat person, much like Saraf herself in real life. Additionally, she teased that Claudette’s close colleague, Detective Melvin Oliva, may not know as much about her as viewers might assume.

Discussing the timeline of their partnership, Saraf revealed that Wallace and Oliva have been working together for roughly a decade, suggesting that while it feels like a long-established professional bond it still is unexplored.

Season 1 strongly hinted that Claudette Wallace is far more significant to the story than initially expected. Over the course of the season, she gained improtant knowledge that positioned her as a key character moving forward.

Not only did Wallace come face-to-face with Dexter, who had already been suspected by Angel Batista of being the Bay Harbor Butcher, but she is now in a position where she may need to connect pieces of the puzzle following Batista’s death.

At the same time, Claudette is also pursuing leads connected to the New York Ripper case, using information gathered from Leon Prater’s files. We are eager to see whether Season 2 could place Detective Wallace at the center of some of the series’ biggest moments yet!
