The actor recently spoke about the Season 1 finale and the opportunity to work with a-list stars.
Dexter: Resurrection wrapped its star-studded first season on September 5th, setting the stage for an even more intense second season, expected to arrive in the second half of 2026. The series brought together an mix of new faces and familiar ones, including Jack Alcott, who returned as Dexter’s son, Harrison.
Alcott, who celebrates his birthday on October 24, recently spoke with Deadline’s Rosy Cordero about his experience filming Dexter: Resurrection as a series regular. The conversation took place ahead of the release of his upcoming film Killing Faith, in which he stars alongside Bill Pullman, Guy Pearce, and DeWanda Wise.
Reflecting on his time on set, Alcott expressed genuine gratitude for being part of a show that continues to captivate audiences around the globe. He admitted that sharing the screen with Hollywood icons like Peter Dinklage and Uma Thurman was both surreal and deeply inspiring, saying he’s still over the moon about those moments.
When discussing the action-packed Episode 10, Alcott recalled how much fun it was to film the high-stakes gala sequence. He described the experience as feeling like he was living out a “mini secret agent movie,” explaining that the scenes reminded him of the spy adventures he dreamed about as a kid.
He shared that every moment on set felt like pure joy, especially the sequences where Harrison navigates through the party with a secret earpiece. “It was father-and-son spy time,” he said with a smile, describing how the inner child in him “was screaming and jumping around for joy.”
Alcott also reflected on Harrison’s emotional evolution throughout the season, explaining that the character now carries both hope and vulnerability. He mused that there’s something deeply compelling about a person who suddenly has everything to lose, noting that whether someone has nothing or everything, they’re both forces you “don’t want to mess with.”
Talking about the incredible ensemble cast of Resurrection, Alcott couldn’t hide his admiration. Working alongside industry greats like Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, David Zayas he said it felt like “a gazillion different master classes happening all at once.”
Watching seasoned actors interact and perform was, for him, a dream come true. He admitted with a laugh that getting to share scenes with Uma Thurman in episodes 9 and 10, is something he’ll “brag about for the rest of his life.”
With the show gearing up for its hotly anticipated second season, Jack’s enthusiasm and humility remind us why his portrayal of Harrison finally resnoates so strongly, especially with the changes the writers did to his character compared to New Blood.
