The YouTube-exclusive series Dexter's Kill Room is officially returning for a third season after Paramount+ renewed it ahead of Dexter: Resurrection Season 2.
Paramount+ has already gotten Dexter fans excited by releasing the first official look at Dexter: Resurrection Season 2. But it turns out that wasn't the only surprise the network had in store.
Alongside the new images, Paramount+ also announced that Dexter's Kill Room is officially returning for a third season, This time, two fan-favorite stars from the original series will take over as hosts.
The YouTube series, which has been exclusive to Dexter's official YouTube channel for the past two years, returns with Erik King and Julie Benz leading the conversations. According to the press release by Paramount, the first episode of Dexter's Kill Room Season 3 actually premieres on August 6 at 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET.
New episodes will be released every Thursday. Throughout the season, the actors behind James Doakes and Rita Morgan will be joined by members of the Dexter: Resurrection cast, including Krysten Ritter (Mia Lapierre) and Eric Stonestreet (Al Walker), as they revisit some of the most memorable moments from across the Dexter franchise.
Dexter's Kill Room first launched in 2024 ahead of Dexter: Original Sin. Both Seasons 1 and 2 consisted of six episodes, each running for around 18 minutes.
While Paramount+ has not yet confirmed the episode count for Season 3, we expect it to follow the same format. If that happens, our calculations suggest the Season 3 finale would premiere on September 10.
Bringing Back Original Series Stars Is a Smart Move
Having Erik King and Julie Benz as hosts actually feels like the right decision since both of them bring a massive dose of nostalgia that many people out there are sure to enjoy.
Last year, Paramount+ chose Jersey Shore stars Snooki and JWoww to host the series. While that duo worked surprisingly well, this year's choice is much more closely connected to the so-called Dexterverse and should make the conversations even more interesting for viewers.
It is also refreshing and exciting to see Paramount+, despite being under new leadership for the past year, continue supporting the Dexter YouTube content ideas that was originally launched under the previous leadership.
That said, there is still no official word on the future of Dexter's Final Cut, the weekly companion series that released new episodes on YouTube two days after each new episode of Dexter: Original Sin and Dexter: Resurrection Season 1. For now, we will have to wait and see if it actually returns alongside Season 2.
