Although we’re only three episodes into Dexter: Resurrection, anticipation is already building for what's next—and Showtime is feeding the hype. The official synopsis for Episode 5, titled "Murder H*rny", has just been released. The episode is set to premiere exclusively on Paramount+ with Showtime on August 1st, 2025.
The revival has made it abundantly clear: Angel Batista isn’t letting the Bay Harbor Butcher case rest. From their tense reunion in the series premiere, it was obvious: Batista knows more than he’s letting on, and Dexter suspects it too. That confrontation set the tone for what’s becoming a high-stakes game of cat and mouse between the former Miami Metro detective and the vigilante killer he once called a friend.
In Episode 3, after Dexter’s daring escape from the Seneca Clinic, Batista returned to Miami. There, he learned from Teddy Reed that Jim Lindsay’s (aka Dexter's) truck was discovered in New York City. Now, convinced that Dexter is hiding in the Big Apple, Batista is heading north.
Trouble Brews for Harrison
Meanwhile, Harrison Morgan is spiraling fast. The young man, already grappling with his dark inheritance, is facing new threats as the series edges closer to its midway point.
Based on the preview for Episode 4, a sinister serial killer gathering appears to be unfolding—an event Dexter is inevitably drawn into. The fallout from this gathering is expected to dominate Episode 5.
