He also shared a fun moment from the set that involved Game of Thrones and Modern Family.
The Dexter sequel Dexter: Resurrection is already making waves—and not just for its storyline. Earlier this year, after months of speculation, it was officially confirmed that two of Hollywood’s most iconic actors—Uma Thurman and Peter Dinklage—have joined the cast in major roles.
Thurman, known worldwide for her unforgettable role as The Bride in Kill Bill, and Dinklage, beloved for portraying Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones, are taking on new personas in the Dexter universe: Charley and Leon Prater. And here’s where things get even more intriguing—their characters are professionally entwined, adding a compelling dynamic to the series that fans can't wait to see unfold.
A-List Talent Galore in Dexter: Resurrection
Of course, Thurman and Dinklage aren’t the only big names making appearances. Dexter: Resurrection boasts a lineup of A-list guest stars, further elevating anticipation for what is shaping up to be one of the most star-studded chapters in Dexter history.
But what was it really like to work alongside these Hollywood powerhouses?
Michael C. Hall on Uma Thurman: “She’s an Icon”
Recently, Michael C. Hall, who reprises his role as the enigmatic Dexter Morgan, appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. While there, he shared behind-the-scenes stories and his personal experiences filming with the new cast members.
Talking about Uma Thurman, Hall couldn’t hide his awe:
“She’s an icon. The first day she was on set, I was talking to Krysten Ritter, who’s also on the show, and we were whispering to each other, ‘That’s Uma Thurman over there.’ You know, it was kinda hard to shake it off and accept her as the character she was playing.”
On Peter Dinklage: “He’s Fantastic”
When it came to Peter Dinklage, Hall’s admiration was equally enthusiastic:
“He was awesome. It was like getting a front-row seat to watch a great actor at work. He’s so playful and facile—he’s just fantastic.”
A Fanboy Moment on Set: Game of Thrones vs. Modern Family
Hall also shared a humorous moment between co-stars Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) and Dinklage on set:
“He and Eric Stonestreet had this running bit about who was on the more iconic show—Game of Thrones or Modern Family. Whenever one of them mentioned their show, the other would go, ‘What’s that? Never heard of it.’ It was fun to watch. I didn’t weigh in on the debate!”
Why Are Audiences Still Obsessed with Dexter?
When asked why Dexter continues to resonate with audiences after all these years, Hall offered a thoughtful take:
“Different people like it for different reasons. Obviously, they like to see him taking down the bad guys. But I think people relate to how capable he is in some ways and how limited he is in others—especially when it comes to functioning as a human being.
And he’s really good at getting out of jams. People like to watch him get out of jams.”
