  4. I think the title is somewhat related to the Dark Passenger. In the books, Cody have his own dark passenger and he called him "mister shadow" or something like that.

  7. Could be anything. In the book series, "shadow" is what Cody calls the Dark Passenger that he can see in anyone who has one. Also, a 'shadow' is someone who's following you in secret. Sounds cool in any respect and I like it already. Also, I love Ray Stevenson and am looking forward to seeing him go head-to-head with Dexter.

  10. The shadow probably refers to Louis. Maybe Louis has been following him around like a shadow.
Also, Dexter could have seen a shadow while committing one of his kills and suspects that someone saw him. This could also be Louis.

  11. Probably has something to do with the Russian Mafia. I don't know if the writers want to drop Louis in just yet, so I'll stick with the people I know are going to play a significant role in the season.

  12. Well, since we all know the show is wrapping up after these next 2 seasons, obviously the writers are starting the story arc for the finale, so this means that the love story was obviously put in place to prolong Deb's decision to turn Dex in.. AND to give the show a happy ending, if they decide to go that route.. the love story could also be misleading us to believe that Deb will protect Dex so that they can shock us when she doesn't at the end of this season.. Though, I personally think she will protect him, ultimately, because the story arc has also been suggesting more often these last few seasons that Deb and Dexter's dad Harry was responsible for creating Dexter's dark passenger, and once Deb realizes this, she will try to fix her father's mistakes out of her love for Dex, and because she'll realize he was just a child victim of her father's own darkness. More evidence to suggest this lies in the fact that lately Deb has also been turning away from putting her dad up on a pedestal like she used to and she is now seeing him as someone who is very flawed instead of the super-cop she thought he was. But the betrayal will make all of this happen very gradually because Deb has already been in love with one serial killer, so it will take a long time for her to gain compassion for Dex.

Of course, she might just faint after seeing Dex in action and Dex could just stick her with some of his sleeping drug so he can take her home and put her in bed to confuse her into thinking it was all a nightmare... lol. Maybe I shouldn't laugh- this could actually be a way out for Dex, while still putting some new possibilities into Deb's head that she never considered.

This all lead's to my idea of why the 2nd episode is to be titled "The Shadow Knows". Maybe Deb's "dream" prompts her to start following Dex, and Dex has an inner thought that says, "She's like a shadow now.. maybe the shadow knows." Wouldn't it be something if I was dead right? The writers would be scrambling to interrogate everyone to find the "leak".. haha

  13. I sometimes listen to old time radio programs for fun. There was a famous old time radio drama called "the shadow", where a detective (aka "the shadow") had the ability to make himself invisible, and "freak out" the bad guy by being an invisible voice in the room. The bad guy would think he was cracking up, and turn himself in, out of fear. His famous line would always be.. "the shadow knows", followed by a high pitched maniacal laugh.. I think that this title is probably referencing the famous old time radio drama "the shadow"...
