For the past couple of years, new Dexter episode, means new Dexter: Final Cut episode as well. The YouTube series hosted by Jamie Chung returns and this week the special guest who was invited to break down the biggest events of Dexter: Resurrection's latest episode is none other than Desmond Harrington.
Quinn was undoubtedly one of the highlights of Episode 2, titled "Fallen," thanks to his unexpected reunion with Dexter. Their scenes were exciting to watch, but they also left many fans out there, wondering about Quinn's true intentions and whether he might know more than he's actually letting on.
Fan theories have been flying ever since the episode was released. And during the latest episode of Dexter: Final Cut, Harrington shared some interesting thoughts about Quinn's reunion with Dexter, including whether he believes his character knows that Dexter is the Bay Harbor Butcher.
Does Joey Quinn Know Dexter Is the Bay Harbor Butcher?
When asked whether he thinks Quinn is onto Dexter, Harrington actually gave a quite interesting perspective. He pointed out how easily people can live next door to serial killers without ever suspecting what they're really capable of.
"People live next door to serial killer[s]. And they're like, 'I never had a clue,'" he said, going on to reference even Harvard-educated people who have failed to recognize the truth about their seemingly ordinary neighbors.
Later in the conversation, Harrington was asked how Quinn might react if he discovered Dexter's real identity, and his answer was especially intriguing. "If that got explained to my character, do I think that he would probably be like, 'Oh, because I've done some shady s**t too, haven't we all?'"
While Harrington (for obvious reasons) stopped short of confirming whether Quinn knows the truth, his comments definitely provide an interesting perspective on how he might react if he ever found out.
Why Joey Quinn Has Survived When So Many of His Colleagues Haven't
With so many of Quinn's former colleagues having been killed throughout the OG series, another interesting question is how the detective has managed to survive for so long.
When asked about it, Harrington actually explained that this says quite a lot about his character. He suggested that Quinn has managed to stay out of trouble by keeping to himself and not getting too involved in other people's affairs.
"When you have your own sort of world going on and your own, you're not diving into other people's world as much," he explained.
Harrington also described Quinn as a "fluid" and "volatile" character who has learned an important lesson over the years: "He kind of knows when to not rock the boat."
Harrington Opens Up About His Long-Standing Friendship With Michael C. Hall
One of the things Harrington was most excited about when returning for Dexter: Resurrection was the chance to share more screen time with his longtime friend Michael C. Hall. When asked what he enjoys most about working with Hall, Harrington gave a simple but very nice answer: "What I enjoy most about my scenes with Michael is they're with Michael."
He also added that the two have maintained a long-standing friendship, even though their characters didn't share that much screen time throughout the original series.
"If you watch the original Dexter, we're not together a lot," he recalled, pointing out that Quinn and Dexter mostly had brief encounters, particularly during the first two seasons.
Now, getting the opportunity to work alongside Hall much more closely has actually been a rewarding experience for the actor. "So to be able to finally work with him is so much fun," Harrington added.
