Following its absence from this year's San Diego Comic-Con, it is now confirmed that Dexter: Resurrection will be heading at New York City Comic Con.
With Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 premiering sometime this fall, it is inevitable that fans are expecting some major developments and exciting news about the new season.
And while the series skipped San Diego Comic-Con this year for the first time in 18 years, there is another major Comic-Con where Dexter: Resurrection is officially set to appear: New York Comic Con 2026.
Even though NYCC is not quite as famous as SDCC, this is still an exciting development that honestly does not come as much of a surprise. When a show skips San Diego Comic-Con because of filming schedules, as was the case with Dexter: Resurrection Season 2, New York Comic Con is arguably the next best alternative.
The news that Dexter: Resurrection will be part of New York Comic Con 2026 was revealed on Wednesday, alongside the full schedule for the other TV shows, movies, and pop culture events that will actually have panels at the convention.
The panel details are officially set:
New York Comic Con 2026 will take place from Thursday, October 8, through Sunday, October 11. The Dexter: Resurrection panel will take place on Thursday, October 8, at 12:30 p.m. ET on the Main Stage, which is the second-largest venue at the event.
Interestingly enough, the annual October convention, which as always takes place at Manhattan’s Javits Center, is also celebrating its own 20th anniversary with this year’s programming slate.
Speaking of milestones and 20th anniversaries, Dexter will also be celebrating a huge milestone this year. The OG series debuted on Showtime 20 years ago, making NYCC 2026 an absolutely fitting place to celebrate the franchise’s anniversary, especially since the convention itself is also turning 20.
According to the announcement, the Dexter: Resurrection panel will celebrate the franchise’s landmark 20th anniversary and will feature members of the cast and creative team.
The panel will also include an “exclusive look at what’s in store for the upcoming second season.”
And if that wasn't enough, the announcement actually teased that there will be plenty of “killer surprises” for fans to look forward to during the panel.
With Season 2 currently in production and its fall premiere approaching, this could be a very important event for Dexter fans. We could finally get a major new look at the upcoming season, along with new footage, cast appearances, and perhaps a few surprises.
