New Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Set Photos Just Revealed a Total 180 For Two Bitter Rivals

In an unexpected twist, it looks like these two major characters are going to get along in the second season!

We’re six weeks into filming for Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection, and new set photos from New York City are already giving fans plenty to talk about. The latest images, taken in downtown Manhattan on May 18, actually tease a complete 180 for two major characters who were left as rivals at the end of Season 1.

Warning: The following story contains major spoilers for the upcoming season of Dexter: Resurrection.

In the new photos, Michael C. Hall and Uma Thurman were spotted filming as Dexter Morgan and Charley Brown during what looks like a relaxed night out in the heart of Manhattan. The scene was filmed outside the real-life spot Flatiron Wines & Spirits, and it hints at a huge shift in the relationship between the two characters after the events of Season 1.

In photos captured by photographer Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin, the actors are seated across from each other at a small round table, casually dressed while drinking red wine and having what actually appears to be a calm, friendly conversation.

Neither Dexter nor Charley shows any signs of tension or hostility. If anything, the vibe between them seems surprisingly comfortable. For the scene, Hall, Thurman, and the surrounding extras were seated on yellow metal bistro chairs under warm lighting, something that gave the setup a more... intimate feel.

A small candle placed on the table definitely adds to the atmosphere, and makes the entire scene look less like a casual meetup and more like something personal!

At one point, while still filming in character (like the microphone above their heads suggests), Dexter and Charley are even seen raising their wine glasses for a toast, as shown in the double image below. Uma Thurman’s expression during the scene makes it pretty clear that the dynamic between these two characters has completely changed.

At the very least, Dexter and Charley seem to be on good terms now. At most, the series could actually be setting up a romantic relationship between them.

It’s a major twist, but honestly, it is a very interesting one. Thurman only joined the set last week, nearly a month after filming officially began, and her first look in Season 2 already revealed a noticeable change for Charley. The bob-cut wig from Season 1 is actually gone, and replaced with a more natural style that definitely matches Thurman’s real-life appearance, aside from a slightly darker blonde hair color for the role.

As we theorized a few days ago, it now seems extremely possible that the diner scene involving Charley, Harrison, and Dexter that took place last week, may have led not just to a truce, but to a full alliance.

That’s especially surprising considering how Season 1 ended, with Charley directly threatening Harrison in order to manipulate Dexter. Despite everything that happened, Dexter knows exactly what Charley has done in the past and everything related to Leon Prater, and Charley knows who Dexter truly is.

At this point, both characters understand each other better than anyone else around them. After everything they’ve done and everything they know, becoming allies (or possibly even something more) may actually be the only way for them to hold onto some version of a normal life.

What do you think is happening in these set photos? Do you see this as a dinner between friends, or something more romantic?
