Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 Casting Call Seeks ‘Broken Bone’ Victims — Hinting at a New Serial Killer

This brand-new casting call is sure to get fans theorizing about the new season.

The countdown to filming for Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection is officially underway. With the production team already in New York City preparing for the next chapter, the first casting call has now been released, and we are sure it is one that will actually have many people intrigued.

What makes this particular call stand out is not only the early timing, with participants needed nearly two weeks before cameras start rolling, but also the role itself. Those selected will portray victims of a serial killer, appearing in staged photographs that will be featured in a future Season 2 episode.

These images will likely be handled by a key character, like Dexter himself or even a member of law enforcement.

The casting notice comes from Waldron Casting, the same team behind numerous extras calls during Season 1. According to their social media post, they are seeking SAG-AFTRA members with flexible body movement who can actually pose in various positions in order to depict victims with broken bones for photographic scenes.

Filming for this specific shoot is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 in Manhattan, which is two weeks ahead of the official start of production on April 13. While the exact episode or episodes these images will appear in hasn’t been confirmed, it does not necessarily mean they will be part of the season premiere.

Of course, this raises a major question: who is the person responsible for these “broken bones” victims? Since the story is set in New York City, the possibilities for new serial killers are...endless, and this could actually be our first hint at the M.O. of a new antagonist.

The fact that these images appear to come from multiple crime scenes suggests they may be part of an NYPD case file, or even Leon Prater’s collection.

Based on the nature of the injuries, this killer’s method definitely doesn’t align with the New York Ripper. Season 1 (particularly Episode 7) made it clear that the man behind that moniker, Don Framt, had a very different modus operandi.

So...is there already a clue about this new killer’s identity?

Possibly. A brief moment in the Season 1 finale showed Dexter reviewing Prater’s files, revealing several creepy monikers. Alongside Rapunzel (Al Walker, played by Eric Stonestreet), the names Jawsplitter, Midnight Mangler, and Yonkers Slayer were visible. Based on the name alone, the latter actually suggests a killer operating within New York.

It is safe to say this casting call will be the reason for plenty of theories in the days ahead, which is definitely enough to keep fans engaged as filming approaches on April 13.

In the meantime, just like last year, this is your opportunity (or someone you know), to get involved in Dexter: Resurrection.
