One of the upcoming season’s directors just shared an exciting new update that made fans happy.
Nearly six months after the Season 1 finale, Dexter: Resurrection has taken its biggest step yet toward Season 2. While filming is scheduled to begin on April 13, a major milestone arrived today. The show’s production office is now officially up and running.
This may seem like a quiet or pointless update to some, but behind the scenes it means the new season is actually moving forward.
The news came through an Instagram story from Dexter: Resurrection executive producer and longtime Dexter director Marcos Siega, who will direct six episodes of the upcoming season. In a brief behind-the-scenes look, Siega showed the newly active production workspace and actually told his followers (including us here on Dexter Daily) not to bother pausing the video, since there were no...hidden spoilers in the footage.
This is in fact the most important update since October 2025, when the writers’ room officially opened and the renewal was confirmed two days later. The launch of a production office is the point where scripts begin turning into an actual television season.
From this point on, the daily work for the team gets even harder. Filming schedules are planned, departments begin working closely together, and each script is actually broken down so every team member knows what needs to be created and prepared. It is in fact, the central point where all the planning comes together long before cameras start rolling.
What makes this production office launch even more notable is its location. As some of you may already know, Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection is the first production to lease space at Sunset Pier 94 Studios in New York City, a brand-new facility that opened just last month.
The move also carries a significance for us longtime fans, since the original series was filmed at Sunset Gower Studios in Los Angeles for eight years. This actually makes the partnership with Sunset Studios very special, considering that 2026 marks the 20th anniversary since the airing of the original Dexter pilot.
With the production office active and preparation underway, the focus shifts to execution. Everything happening now is about making sure filming will run smoothly and the story is delivered to the viewers at the highest level possible!
