Dexter’s Real ‘Slice of Life’ Boat Just Wrapped a 3-Day Appearance at Scaradise 2025

The real Dexter boat exists — and fans saw it up close over the past weekend.

This past weekend, from October 3rd to October 5th, the annual horror convention Scaradise took over Tampa, Florida, bringing together fans from all corners of the horror universe. The event once again proved to be a huge success, drawing attendees eager to meet their favorite stars from iconic horror films and TV series.

One of the biggest highlights was the reunion of five core cast members from the original Dexter series that spent the weekend signing autographs, taking photos, and sharing stories during the traditional Dexter Q&A panel.

But there was another surprise that thrilled Dexter fans — the return of the original Slice of Life boat, the very vessel used by Dexter Morgan in the series from 2006 to 2013.

Yes, the actual fishing boat Dexter used to dispose of his victims off the coast of Miami was on display at Scaradise 2025. Despite being shown as wrecked during the original series finale, the real-life Slice of Life is still afloat today — lovingly preserved by a dedicated Dexter fan who now owns it.

The boat occasionally makes rare appearances at fan conventions, giving Dexter enthusiasts the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take photos, climb aboard, and relive one of TV’s most iconic scenes. Over the past weekend, fans lined up for hours to pose with the boat, many even recreating Dexter’s signature garbage bag scene for the perfect photo op.

And it wasn’t just the fans who got in on the fun. The Dexter cast themselves took the opportunity to reunite with the Slice of Life, posing for an unforgettable photo in front of the legendary boat during the convention’s final day.
